spotz[m]I can’t find the election channel on matrix. Dave is a recheck and pinged about the other18:13
fungispotz[m]: it should be #openstack-election but our channels are all flagged no-indexing in order to deter spammers, so you have to enter the channel name manually18:15
fungibecause it relies on oftc's channel index, the search feature in matrix doesn't find them18:15
spotz[m]Fungi I did type it but was looking through the index. Trying again18:18
clarkbya you just enter the name and click join18:18
clarkbit won't auto fill18:19
spotz[m]No join on the element phone app18:21
* clarkb tries18:23
clarkbspotz[m]: https://matrix.to/#/#_oftc_#openstack-election:matrix.org does opening that link work?18:24
spotz[m]Grr doesn’t copy18:27
spotz[m]Clicking errors18:28
clarkbspotz[m]: fwiw I was able to join on android element18:30
clarkbclick the little green + button bottom right. Enter #_oftc_#openstack-election:matrix.org then under "create new room" you click/touch the channel name and it joins you18:31
spotz[m]I’ll have to try in a bit cause I can’t copy it18:46
fungithere's a reason i still just carry a small computer with me everywhere. phones are for placing voice calls (and they're even increasingly terrible at that these days)18:50
dansmithfungi: ++18:52
spotz[m]Dave is failing with lfapnodepool?19:36
fungilfapnodepool?19:44
spotz[m]That’s what he said on the verification for keystone PTO20:54
knikollait's not failing on openstack/ldappool, it appears to be doing that because ldappool is the last repo that the tests look for valid commits in, and makes it appear like it's failing on that specific repo. 21:06
knikollaunfortunately it doesn't seem that Dave has any commits within this cycle in any keystone repo, though he's been doing code reviews and attending all meetings with me and the rest of the team. 21:07
fungithe validation job also logs the exact queries it performs21:08
knikollait fails in "Looking for validating changes" after it cycles through all the keystone repos21:10
fungiit basically checks all official keystone deliverable repositories and looks for changes owned (first revision pushed by) that account which merged between 2021-09-17 and 2022-09-0721:10
fungiif one of david's changes did merge to a keystone repository in the past year and it's not showing up there, then he could have more than one gerrit account i guess21:11
*** dasm is now known as dasm|off21:11
knikollaI think it's likely he doesn't. 21:14
knikollaI'll email him. 21:14
fungion a positive note, if there are no other ptl candidates for keystone who meet the qualifying criteria for the election, the tc can still appoint him once the election has concluded21:16
fungi(and likely will if he's the best, or only, volunteer for the position)21:17
spotzI know they were trying to find someone to replace Doug who's gonna be out on paternity21:18
JayFI'll note that this person also still has ~5 hours to get a minor docs/testing change merged to render this an entire moot conversation.21:22
JayFIt's usually not difficult to find something that needs fixing.21:23
JayFwait, ~5 hours is based on my local time, it's more like ~2.5 isn't it21:23
knikollaUnfortunately, we set the time for checking for commits to end at 2022-09-07 at 00.00UTC, so we'd need to merge a change to election first. 21:23
JayFack21:24
knikollaPutting my keystone core hat on, I'm okay with the TC assigning Dave after the fact. 21:24
spotzI think we might want to give us a day or two to set up the voting:(21:25
knikolla:/ i would prefer that rather than rushing a process we're all unfamiliar with. since neither of us have set this up before. 21:29
fungiyes, i don't think there's any shame in taking some time to get the polls set up and reviewed. maybe just send something to the openstack-discuss ml letting folks know there will be some delay before ballots go out21:39
spotzto give everyone a chance to opt-in...21:46
fungiyes, that too of course21:47
fungior at least remind them to check that they have already done so21:47
spotzSo what about us adding campaigning back in for a week being that there is the need for an election? That'll give folks a chance to campaign and us to get things going but I will be gone21:48
knikollai don't think we need more than a couple of days, perhaps 1 week is too much :/ 21:51
spotzWell we don't want to start on a Friday:)21:51
knikollaoh, right21:51
spotzSo no matter what I would push it to Monday21:51
knikollaMonday works for me21:51
knikollaI can bring it up in tomorrow's tc meeting21:52
knikollaIf the governance exception for the delay in elections rounds down, we probably don't need to update it to say 2 weeks late :)21:52
spotz[m]Ok let’s do a patch to add campaigning back, mail the lists, and then discuss in the meeting otherwise folks will wonder what’s happening22:10
