acolesnizam037: using keystone? first try 'swift auth' to check you get a token from keystone ok. If that is ok then check your proxy logs and proxy-server.conf options for keystonemiddleware. Whatever credentials etc you have in proxy-server.conf for keystonemiddleware should work with the 'openstack' CLI to talk to keystone directly.09:03

tdasilvacschwede, acoles: just caught up on the meeting log. I like the idea of triaging the bugs better. I think like you I'm a little afraid of the whole sale closing of a lot of bugs13:27
tdasilvafor the past week I've been trying to go over bugs and doing some triaging and ran into some good examples of why I'd be fearful of just closing bugs automatically13:28
tdasilvathis is one example: https://bugs.launchpad.net/swift/+bug/118602413:28
openstackLaunchpad bug 1186024 in OpenStack Object Storage (swift) "make_requests logging - wrong method" [Undecided,Confirmed] - Assigned to David Hadas (david-hadas)13:28
tdasilvaand here's another: https://bugs.launchpad.net/swift/+bug/148584513:29
openstackLaunchpad bug 1485845 in OpenStack Object Storage (swift) "where does bulk middleware go?" [Low,New]13:29
tdasilvaand I too wish we had some kind of voting system to get consensus, I've been closing some bugs this week, but always with a bit of hesitation if I'm doing the right thing or not:13:30
tdasilvasome examples:13:30
tdasilvahttps://bugs.launchpad.net/swift/+bug/148974913:30
openstackLaunchpad bug 1489749 in puppet-swift trunk "staticweb middleware ignores acl and breaks clients" [Undecided,New]13:30
tdasilvahttps://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127011413:31
openstackLaunchpad bug 1270114 in OpenStack Object Storage (swift) "Invalid Content-Type after extract files" [Undecided,Fix released] - Assigned to Carlos Cavanna (ccavanna)13:31
tdasilvathese were actually not that bad, because they were already marked as fix-committed, but were never marked as released. but that raises the question of "was it just a partial fix?"13:31
*** abhitechie has quit IRC13:38
acolestdasilva: this one is a good example to consider 'why would we discard this bug?' https://bugs.launchpad.net/swift/+bug/148584513:38
openstackLaunchpad bug 1485845 in OpenStack Object Storage (swift) "where does bulk middleware go?" [Low,New]13:38
acolestdasilva: it has been 'triaged' in sense that it has an importance of low. maybe we should be going after the 'undecided'?13:40
tdasilvaacoles: yeah, in my manual triaging, I typically go for oldest 'undecided' and see what's up with them13:41
tdasilvaacoles: recently (yesterday and today) I've been just looking at the list of "Fix Committed" and trying to understand why they are not marked release yet. luckly the list is small (only 11 bugs at the moment)13:42
tdasilvaacoles: I like the idea of planning a bug triage day - "everyone takes 10 bugs and try to triage them"13:43
tdasilvamaybe with the list cschwede is grooming would help with that exercise??13:43

notmynametdasilva: historically, the openstack bots only put stuff into fix-committed and didn't do fix-released until the cycle release (or maybe just the release branch merge to master). since that process seemed to always break or not get done for one reason or another, I'm totally not surprised there are fix-committed bugs that should be fix-released15:36
*** mvk has quit IRC15:40

kota_acoles: at 0700 it didn't finish yet. it has a short story for the reason. Accedently I had killed the test process because it was running so longer than i expected.21:03

kota_acoles: now, i modified the test script to output also OK if the parameter is healthy that can help me to know the progress21:04
kota_but it had been running still yet at the last night21:05
acoleskota_: hehe - many times I have needed to do the same i.e. restarted a long job with some kind of heartbeat :)21:05
kota_it looks like from around k + m >= 20, the test is being so hard21:06
kota_i saw it reached k + m = 23 or 24 at the last night...21:07
jungleboyjmattoliverau:  Hey, I saw your message earlier this week but can't DM you for some reason.21:08
mattoliveraujungleboyj: strange. I'm on matrix so maybe something weird is happening. You could just email (matt@oliver.net.au) :)21:09
jungleboyjmattoliverau:  Hmm, I am on IRCCloud and have not had any issues elsewhere.  When I try to DM it tell me I need to log into the service.21:10
jungleboyjmattoliverau: Sure, I will shoot you and e-mail.21:11
mattoliverauIrccloud + matrix via irc must have some bugs21:11
mattoliverauThanks man21:11
jungleboyjmattoliverau:  Nope, when I try to respond to that I get:  mattoliverau: You must log in with services to message this user21:13
jungleboyjWhat is matrix?21:13
OrionXfwiw, it works when using swift cli, but not via the API directly21:16

mattoliverauSee matrix.org it has a slack and irc freenode bridge. Not 100% convinced it's the best. But it means I don't need a bouncer and it's free. (Riot im as the client). May move back to other things but for now it works21:17
zaitcevI'm not impressed with whatever thing the Hummingbird people chose. Sure, I hate Slack as much as anyone, but at least stand up a Rocket or something.21:19
jrichliOrionX: stick around for another 40 minutes if you can.  swift is technically in a meeting right now21:20
OrionXjrichli: ah, thx for the info!21:20

notmynameOrionX: when you say "cli works but not the api", what do you mean by api? http commands or the python sdk?21:52
notmynamejungleboyj: ;-)21:52
jungleboyjI didn't realize chat bot was so posesive.21:53
jrichliOrionX: since you say it works when using swift cli, but not via the API directly, it would be helpful to show your exact command and maybe the error log in a paste at http://paste.openstack.org/21:53
notmynameOrionX: but be sure to clear any passwords or tokens ;-)21:54
zaitcevclayg: it appears that I used my Github credentials.21:54
OrionXnotmyname: np.  i did make some progress.  i'm able to use ResellerAdmin w/ swiftclient.service.SwiftService if I use 'os_auth_token' and 'os_storage_url'.  this is probably ok for my needs, but i'm curious what the correct combination of options is to do this w/ 'os_username', 'os_password', etc.21:54

notmynameOrionX: ah! without complete knowledge of what you're doing or how it's set up, what you say makes sense to me21:55
notmynameOrionX: if you use username/password, it will grab a token and storage url from keystone and use those. but you aren't trying to access the storage url for the reseller admin, are you? you're trying to access other accounts. so that's why you need to get a token, pass it in along with the other storage url21:56
notmynameOrionX: but that's just a guess. doing what jrichli suggested would be helpful for further diagnosis21:57
OrionXnotmyname: based on your last msgs, i think it might have just dawned on me what i've been doing wrong.... testing...22:02

mattoliverautimburke: via the glace_store swift driver: https://github.com/openstack/glance_store/tree/master/glance_store/_drivers/swift23:41
timburkemattoliverau: yeah, i was kinda aware of the existence of that code tree... but like, as a user, if i upload an image to glance, does it go to my (project's, i guess?) account, or to some service account tied to glance's service user?23:43
mattoliverauI think you can choose when you set up glance. If I remember correctly the glance_store drivers support the different modes. Service Tennant, users project Tennant and service service tokens23:45
*** JimCheung has joined #openstack-swift23:46
timburkemattoliverau: so... probably safe to close? leave a note like "hey, that sounds like a glance feature..." and mark as... invalid, i guess?23:47
*** JimCheung has quit IRC23:50
mattoliverautimburke: yeah invalid, this depends on the way glance is setup to store images _and_ if you know the reseller prefix and project/Tennant then a reseller admin should be able to list from swift. (Service tokens to my recollection places it under a different reseller for the user so it's individual but seperate so the user can't delete it).23:54
