mordredpabelanger, EmilienM: however, last time I tried to run the galaxy 'look at the projects in the github org and register them' process it broke galaxy because we have a LOT of repos in our org16:11
pabelangeryah, when I last talked to ansible folks about galaxy, it really was a thin wrapper to github (APIs)16:11
mordredyes. it's one of my least favorite things about galaxy and I have complained MANY times about it16:11
dmsimardpabelanger: it's still that last I know16:11

dmsimard"real" role re-usability is hard16:14
mordreddmsimard: I agree - I think a good amount of that may be age of ecosystem too - when we first started puppeting in infra the puppet module ecosystem was MUCH worse16:14
fungifrickler: thanks for the heads up on the bindep-fallback-debian-jessie job. i'll see if i can coax a more detailed error out of it and track that down shortly16:15
dmsimardI guess to some extent it's explained by the fact that Ansible has *modules* and *roles* while for Puppet, they're mostly one and the same.. like puppetlabs-apache, puppetlabs-mysql, etc.16:15

clarkbhjensas: the gate is a queue, first in first out. We test in parallel to speed things up with the hope that things pass and we can merge things in order all at once. kota_I'd like to reword it but it seems immutable.20:57
prometheanfirecan you confirm? just in case20:57
prometheanfirekota_: join the -release channel and ask there :D20:57
fungikota_: the tag message is part of the data signed in the tag. once it's pushed you're stuck with it. you'd need to delete and recreate and push a new tag, but tag deletion/replacement doesn't propagate via pulls, fetches or remote updates20:57
prometheanfireah, didn't know it was part of the tag20:57

prometheanfire           With -f option, git fetch <name> is run immediately after the remote information is set up.20:58

prometheanfireya20:59
kota_on the gerrit, we use in the openstack.20:59
prometheanfiretell me when to run git fetch gerrit20:59
fungikota_: not really effectively. we have lots of automation which will fail to notice a new tag if you attempt to push a replacement. but also you'd need a special acl permission to remotely delete a tag from gerrit21:00
prometheanfirekota_: if it's published it's in git.openstack.org and mirrored to github iirc21:00
kota_at least, `git push -f` didn't work to me tho.21:01
fungifrom my perspective, the bigger concern is not git.o.o and gh mirrors, but for example the clones maintained by zuul executors which will continue to have and use teh old tag, or people who have cloned the repo already21:02
