tchaypoNakato: have you seen https://github.com/timothyb89/stackviz ?05:57
Nakatotchaypo: I haven't05:57
tchaypochen12: I *think* that the mechanism for adding you to a group would be to update the files in http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack-infra/project-config/tree/05:59
tchaypoto list your group and to set the ACLs on your repo06:00
tchaypochen12: so although you won’t be able to approve the change, I think you should probably be able to propose a change to that repo for infra to accept06:00
tchaypoNakato: it’s something I’d like to look at tomorrow; it seems to overlap with some of the requirements from https://review.openstack.org/192253 so I’d like to htink about ways we can avoid duplicationg functionality06:01

tchaypothere’s a directory called gerrit that has a projects.yaml - I think your project is listed there. Beside that, there’s a directory called ACLs06:05
tchaypoI think you’ll want to make a file inside the acls directory to define your group, and then refer to that file in projects.yaml, but I don’t know the specifics of what you need to do06:05
chen12tchaypo, that's sounds like the previous step, which I already did.  https://review.openstack.org/#/c/207050/06:06
openstackgerritOpenStack Proposal Bot proposed openstack/requirements: Updated from generate-constraints  https://review.openstack.org/21098806:06
tchaypohttps://review.openstack.org/#/c/208430/ looks like it might be similar to what you need to do, perhaps06:06

tchaypobut you do have an acl-config file - https://review.openstack.org/#/c/207050/8/gerrit/acls/openstack/devstack-plugin-hdfs.config06:09
tchaypomaybe there’s something that automatically reads that file?06:09

ianwgreghaynes: ^ been staring at these too long, but i think it's about right06:11
chen12tchaypo, my guess is for projects do not list "acl-config" explicit would use acl/${project}.conf directly. the reason https://review.openstack.org/#/c/208430/5/gerrit/projects.yaml need to set acl-config is because the file name is different with the project name06:13

rcarrillocruzi don't think we should require our puppet modules to run install_puppet.sh, the module should do its thing20:37
fungircarrillocruz: that was nibalizer's take... we have some basic prerequisites for our modules. you need to install puppet and pip20:37
rcarrillocruzand in this case is even buggy, cos does an include pip that is a noop20:37

rcarrillocruzi'm ok with it20:51
rcarrillocruzjust we should get consensus20:51
rcarrillocruzcos i'm sure there must be more service modules out there using puppet-pip20:51
rcarrillocruzand it does nothing in terms of installing pip, which is supposedly its main reason to exist20:52
yolandaand if we need pip explicitly installed with install_puppet script, we need to enforce it on the documentation20:52
fungionce i ripped out the python3-pip hacks, which was the primary reason we had that module in the first place, i proposed removing it since it was at that point doing basically nothing. apparently it's since grown some mechanism to manage pip configs20:52
clarkbyes the reason the module existed was to support python3 not to install pip20:53
fungibut we really originally had it simply so we could subclass the pip package provider to do python3-ish things20:53
clarkbsdague: for https://review.openstack.org/#/c/202566/2/devstack-vm-gate.sh that stops using sudo -H is that a problem?20:53
jeblairyeah, so continuing to install pip from install_puppet.sh is probably what we want to do; and if we need a module just to manage the pip.conf, we can declare that as the purpose of puppet-pip20:54
