phschwartzjeblair: What is going on?00:45
jeblairianw: not to dissuade you from your current course (particularly since this isn't ready), but hopefully soon we'll build our own images from scratch using diskimage builder, and we'll be insulated from that sort of thing00:45
phschwartzJust caught my attention.00:45
jeblairphschwartz: apparently some stuff is installed on rackspace images from pip00:46
ianwjeblair: yeah -- i've added centos7 to d-i-b :)  this is helpful for shaking out initial bugs00:46
jeblairphschwartz: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/111646/  and ticket 140804-ord-000013400:46
phschwartzianw: What image are you using? We don't have a lot of cloud-init images, but most are using a default package unless you are using an old debian image where cloud-init wasn't in the repo00:47
ianwphschwartz: this is centos700:47
clarkbafazekas: looks like it passes all of the tests and there is an explanation for why we setup networking prior to stack.sh. Why is that required?00:47
clarkbafazekas: is devstack not capable of creating a bridge for us? it seems like it should do these things00:47
phschwartzianw: What image id? Our default centos7 shouldn't even have pip installed.00:48
clarkbafazekas: my concern is that devstack multinode won't actually work without devstack gate00:48
phschwartzunless something has changed and not all the devs were told.00:48
clarkbafazekas: and that is something we have tried to avoid in all of our testing of devstack00:48

phschwartzThey can be installed on centos the moment they are in epel00:57

LuckyVegaHi folks, recently I am working on building CI for our ml2 driver. Since our code has not been merged to the master branch, when running the devstack-vm-gate script, the code in neutron project will be updated so our code is missing. Without the code, devstack will fail since it is configured to use our own ml2 driver. Any suggestions to solve this problem?07:58

jedimikewe're having a problem with install_modules.sh14:27
jedimikesome of the modules require concat, and specify >=1.0.014:27
sahidHi all, there is a way to remove an account from gerrit? (this account doesn't  have any comment or review)14:27
sahid?14:27
jedimikeconcat 1.1.0 installs stdlib 4.x, which is fine, but further on down install_modules.sh, it tries to explicitly installs stdlib 3.2.0, which it can't do so the script errors14:28
jedimikeI have a fix, which is to specifiy concat 1.0.0 and stdlib 3.2.0 at the top of the modules list14:28
jedimikehow does that sound?14:28
*** otherwiseguy has joined #openstack-infra14:28

jedimikespecifically, puppetlabs-haproxy requires concat >= 1.0.0, which now installs 1.1.0 and the 4.x version of stdlib, which makes it fail on the line trying to install stdlib 3.2.014:29

sahidactually it creates mistake with the auto-completion14:39
jedimikewhat we're seeing is installing haproxy will install concat 1.1.0. Installing concat 1.1.0 installs stdlib 4. Installing stdlib 4 causes the explicit installation of stdlib 3.2.0 to fail14:40
sahidclarkb, if you try to typing "sahid" you will see two account14:40

ttxjeblair: not sure I follow you. The change basically makes -tc an unmoderated list for all openstack-dev subscribers (which means everyone).15:48
ttxI guess the question is... do we get more off-topic posts that we get on-topic posts from non-TC-members15:48
ttxIf we say we get more on-topic posts, then I guess we would make -tc unmoderated, rather than than add openstack-dev as allowed poster15:49
jeblairttx: as the moderator, you'd know best.  mostly what i've seen from outside is that whenever someone posts a tc motion to both lists, it ends up being a huge deal with a lot of posts about how crossposting is bad.15:49
jeblairttx: unmoderated is bad; you get spam.15:50
jeblairactually, we should say, open subscription, not moderation.15:50

ttxcurrently the TC list is a list where only TC members are allowed to post. If we allow anyone from openstack-dev to post, then we should let anyone from openstack-tc to post :)15:52
ttxSo we could change the list policy and make it unmoderated for subscribers, but that's a significant policy change, I would ask the TC about it before pushing it15:53
