15:07:34 <gagehugo> anyone else have anything new?
15:08:00 <Luzi> well i have a question
15:08:13 <Luzi> concerning image encryption
15:09:05 <Luzi> as it was way better to actually speak to other contributers at the last summit, then just to write specs and promote those...
15:09:30 <gagehugo> sure
15:09:37 <Luzi> were would be a good place for a forum discussion about the current stand and blockers for image encryption
15:09:45 <Luzi> ?
15:10:38 <gagehugo> Luzi: the openstack-discuss mailing list would be one option (if not already)
15:10:44 <Luzi> i also followed the ml-thread about pop-up-teams
15:10:57 <fungi> excellent, i did want to point that ml thread out to you
15:11:14 <fungi> i see the image encryption effort as a pop-up team
15:11:32 <gagehugo> same
15:12:28 <Luzi> okay, i was also being pointed to the option to have a forum session dedicated for this
15:12:39 <Luzi> the image encryption
15:12:44 <gagehugo> if you are attending the summit, then yes :)
15:12:47 <fungi> yes, proposing a forum session sounds like a great idea
15:13:00 <Luzi> i thought so too :)
15:13:13 <Luzi> but in which topic does it belong?
15:13:35 <fungi> the forum doesn't really have tracks, if that's what you're asking. it basically is a track unto itself
15:13:48 <fungi> (a track of the larger summit conference)
15:14:02 <redrobot> I'd think that's a security track Forum?
15:14:27 <redrobot> does this Security SIG (or team?) get Forum slots?
15:14:56 * redrobot just learned the other day Fishbowls are now called Forums
15:15:13 <gagehugo> redrobot: we have a slot for the PTG
15:15:28 <redrobot> Forums are part of the Summit though, not PTG
15:15:36 <gagehugo> the forums at the summit have always been unique though
15:15:45 <gagehugo> not really set into a track
15:15:49 <Luzi> well there are etherpads for gathering forum ideas right?
15:15:50 <Luzi> https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Forum/Denver2019
15:16:21 <fungi> right, teams don't get reserved forum slots. everyone proposes topic ideas for the forum and then the forum session selection committee (basically chairs for the "forum" track of the summit) selects however many we can fit (which is usually all of them)
15:16:34 <Luzi> but if it would be okay to just propose a forum session, I will do that
15:16:43 <redrobot> Oh interesting.
15:16:44 <Luzi> fungi, ah okay, thank you :)
15:16:51 <fungi> forum sessions are ideally supposed to be cross-cutting topics which are relevant to multiple teams
15:16:53 * redrobot didn't learn enough about the Forum format
15:17:03 <gagehugo> https://www.openstack.org/summit/denver-2019/call-for-presentations
15:17:19 <fungi> redrobot: it came about when the ptg was first created, as the "feedback" half of what used to make up our design summit sessions
15:17:24 <gagehugo> from https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Forum
15:18:09 <gagehugo> Luzi: imo this is a great forum topic
15:18:14 <Luzi> gagehugo, thank you too
15:18:56 <fungi> we basically moved the planning part of the design summit to the ptg and smashed it together with the working session concept part of mid-cycle events, but kept the feedback part of the design summit as a track of the summit conference
15:19:41 <fungi> though it gets muddy again now that we're doing the summit/forum back-to-back with the ptg this time
15:19:54 <fungi> rather than in alternating quarters of the year
15:20:15 <Luzi> thank you all, i will propose a forum session for the image encryption - it would be nice to see you there :)
15:22:24 <Luzi> that was all from my side
15:22:31 <gagehugo> Luzi: sounds good!
15:23:42 <gagehugo> anyone have anything else?
15:29:12 <gagehugo> thanks for coming everyone!
15:29:14 <fungi> oh, yeah
