18:02:29 <SergeyLukjanov> #topic sahara@horizon status (croberts, NikitaKonovalov)
18:02:37 <SergeyLukjanov> crobertsrh, NikitaKonovalov, please
18:02:49 <SergeyLukjanov> do we have working dashboard?:)
18:02:59 <NikitaKonovalov> most of it
18:03:03 <elmiko> i found a bug earlier :(
18:03:09 <crobertsrh> I'll differ to Nikita on this :)
18:03:19 <tosky> (hi)
18:03:20 <crobertsrh> Yes, elmiko did manage to break it this morning
18:03:28 <elmiko> /sadpanda
18:03:34 <crobertsrh> I can write that bug up and hopefully fix it soon.
18:03:36 <NikitaKonovalov> there are two bugs bugs with fixes on review
18:03:50 <NikitaKonovalov> and both are in cluster template workflows
18:04:05 <SergeyLukjanov> ok
18:04:21 <SergeyLukjanov> NikitaKonovalov, alazarev, what's about sec groups support/
18:04:25 <elmiko> crobertsrh: is one of those the same i ran across this morning?
18:04:28 <NikitaKonovalov> we are waiting for horizon team reviews
18:04:57 <crobertsrh> elmiko....I don't believe so
18:04:59 <NikitaKonovalov> SergeyLukjanov: afaik the blocker for the UI is the python client support for sec groups
18:05:05 <elmiko> d'oh
18:05:14 <SergeyLukjanov> NikitaKonovalov, ack
18:05:31 <NikitaKonovalov> the path is ready and WIP
18:05:45 <SergeyLukjanov> okay
18:05:54 <SergeyLukjanov> #topic News / updates
18:05:57 <SergeyLukjanov> folks, please
18:06:20 <SergeyLukjanov> no updates from me - working on pushing all stuff that we need to include into the j3 and juno at all
18:06:54 <NikitaKonovalov> I'm also working on Sahara benchmarks in rally
18:07:14 <alazarev> I’ve worked on security groups support and switching anti affinity to server groups
18:07:16 <NikitaKonovalov> The cluster create benchmark is ready, the edp is in progress
18:07:17 <elmiko> as of about 15 minutes ago, i've got a full working proto-type of the swift-auth stuff. i've got 6 reviews up and probably another 1 or 2 to push. Kazuki Oikawa did a great job updating the hadoop-swiftfs jar for keystone v3 and it is on review now. we just need to get a minor tweak into horizon and things will be in great shape to land for juno.
18:08:06 <elmiko> oh, i need to finish up documentation. also we will need to talk about the future of gate testing the proxy domain stuff.
18:08:15 <tmckay> not much news from me
18:08:31 <SergeyLukjanov> elmiko, great!
18:08:45 <elmiko> i'm totally stoked =)
18:08:48 <alazarev> also fixed horizon (cluster template cretion), review is needed https://review.openstack.org/#/c/118885/
18:09:04 <tmckay> I want to think about how to use mesos as a scheduler in Sahara
18:09:24 <SergeyLukjanov> tmckay, mesos isn't really a scheduler, it's cluster manager
18:09:36 <tmckay> oh, SergeyLukjanov, mattf sends regrets, said he may make the second half of the meeting
18:09:47 <SergeyLukjanov> tmckay, ack
18:09:56 <tmckay> SergeyLukjanov, well, for instance, you can deploy spark on mesos instead of yarn or standalone
18:10:59 <SergeyLukjanov> tmckay, yup
18:11:21 <SergeyLukjanov> tmckay, I've just not sure that it's a scheduler ;)
18:11:32 <tmckay> oh, and there is the discussion for Kilo on how to do swift credentials for Spark
18:11:42 <tmckay> SergeyLukjanov, okay :)
18:11:47 <tmckay> bad word, maybe
18:12:22 <alazarev> tmckay: do you suggest to develop specific app for mesos?
18:12:34 <alazarev> tmckay: this is not openstack way
18:13:34 <tmckay> alazarev, I am thinking about how to make mesos a building block that we could use in Sahara.
18:13:48 <tmckay> kind of fuzzy idea right now
18:14:22 <tmckay> but, for instance, you should be able to deploy a spark cluster with mesos. But I don't think it should be written into just the spark plugin
18:14:30 <tmckay> Because we could use it for other stuff, too
18:14:52 <tmckay> but I haven't thought about it too much :)
18:15:10 <SergeyLukjanov> yeah, it's interesting idea if we'd like to deploy cluster with storm, hadoop, spark and something else
18:15:19 <tmckay> of course, I'll write a spec if I have an idea ;-)
18:15:23 <SergeyLukjanov> ack
18:15:31 <SergeyLukjanov> #topic Juno status and FFEs
18:15:38 <SergeyLukjanov> #link https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Juno_Release_Schedule
18:15:49 <alazarev> but requiring mesos for specific hadoop distro is also not the best idea
18:15:55 <SergeyLukjanov> so, juno-3 will be tagged early tomorrow
18:16:09 <SergeyLukjanov> a-a feature will be included or gain FFE
18:16:27 <SergeyLukjanov> till Sept 25 is the FFE changes and fixes time
18:16:34 <SergeyLukjanov> Sept 25 is the rc1 day
18:16:43 <elmiko> swift-auth will definitely be ready for juno-rc, i've got a few more patches to submit and hopefully we can get the horizon stuff in too.
18:16:57 <SergeyLukjanov> current list of bps for FFEs - https://launchpad.net/sahara/+milestone/juno-rc1
18:17:08 <SergeyLukjanov> elmiko, awesome
18:17:18 <SergeyLukjanov> but Sept 25 is the hard deadline
18:17:26 <SergeyLukjanov> for features
18:17:40 <elmiko> SergeyLukjanov: aside from documentation, the code patches should all be up by monday
18:19:00 <SergeyLukjanov> elmiko, just reminder ;)
18:19:09 <SergeyLukjanov> so, any questions on release process?
18:19:14 <elmiko> i appreciate it =)
18:19:45 <elmiko> SergeyLukjanov: would you mind giving a brief overview of the release process?
18:20:24 <SergeyLukjanov> elmiko, sure
18:20:38 <SergeyLukjanov> so, at rc1 day will tag first release candidate
18:20:48 <SergeyLukjanov> and we're all will start testing sahara
18:20:58 <SergeyLukjanov> and pushing critical bug fixes :)
18:21:08 <SergeyLukjanov> master will be opened for Kilo at this day
18:21:33 <SergeyLukjanov> and till the release of Juno in mid Oct will use proposed/juno for juno fixes
18:22:11 <SergeyLukjanov> that's all :)
18:22:21 <elmiko> awesome, thank you
18:22:32 <alazarev> when will branch for kilo be opened?
18:22:42 <SergeyLukjanov> rc1
18:22:51 <SergeyLukjanov> == Sept 25
18:23:12 <tosky> just a question: you blocked one review which adds some tests in tempest format, but isn't the freeze usually more "loose" for tests?
18:23:41 <SergeyLukjanov> it's a temp freeze for j3
18:24:06 <SergeyLukjanov> I'll remove -2's next week
18:25:10 <SergeyLukjanov> #topic Open discussion
18:25:18 <SergeyLukjanov> nothing mode from my side
18:25:20 <SergeyLukjanov> more*
18:25:41 <tosky> now that https://review.openstack.org/#/c/104136/ is in, would it be possible to discuss updating the tag used by dib (also on gates)? I couldn't test in the last weeks, but at least one month ago the build was stable
18:25:47 <elmiko> do we have design session topics for summit?
18:25:54 <elmiko> tosky: ++
18:26:15 <elmiko> tosky: i was thinking about trying to update sahara-image-elements once the dib folks make a tag
18:26:55 <elmiko> also, i tested image-elements 2 days ago and things are broken against for selinux against dib 0.1.17, but they work against master. on f20 at least.
18:27:19 <elmiko> s/against//
18:29:15 <SergeyLukjanov> I'll send email with details re design summit
18:29:17 <SergeyLukjanov> tomorrow
18:29:31 <SergeyLukjanov> but we'll have sessions
18:29:54 <SergeyLukjanov> and I'd like to discuss future of s-i-e
18:30:02 <elmiko> tosky: looks like they have tagged dib to 0.1.29, i'll make a CR for image-elements to upgrade the default patch
18:30:32 <elmiko> or maybe not, depending on what SergeyLukjanov has to say...
18:31:34 <alazarev> what is “s-i-e"?
18:31:41 <elmiko> sahara-image-elements
18:31:49 <alazarev> I see
18:32:11 <SergeyLukjanov> elmiko, IMO it's great to bump dib version
18:32:53 <elmiko> SergeyLukjanov: should i make a bug to reference in the CR?
18:33:02 <SergeyLukjanov> elmiko, yes please
18:33:04 <elmiko> ack
18:35:42 <SergeyLukjanov> anything else to discuss?
18:36:11 <elmiko> nothing from me
18:36:30 <crobertsrh> Nothing here. Do let me know if anything urgently needs my attention....I'm still digging out a bit.
18:38:06 <SergeyLukjanov> okay
18:38:10 <SergeyLukjanov> thank you folks!
