Project team gathering takes place every six months, i.e. at the beginning of a new development cycle 13:06:38 next PTG is September 11th 13:07:31 consider attending if you are an active contributor to the project. This is more relevant to talk about project design, to make progress on existing development work 13:07:50 and collaborate on cross-project work 13:08:01 vkmc: thanks 13:08:39 September 11th is soon approaching, and deadlines to apply/register have passed 13:09:45 But there's OpenStack summit coming up, in Sydney. I hope you have applied for travel support 13:10:48 * rodrigods did :) 13:11:00 :D 13:11:13 The summit is going to be a place for users and developers to brainstorm on requirements, gather feedback and also a place to meetup with ops (if they haven't attended the ptg) 13:12:15 It will also be a good place for interns to meet people in person and know about openstack eco-system 13:13:01 mahatic, +1 13:13:14 i've been attending openstack summits since vancouver 2015 13:13:15 there will be events related to "Women of OpenStack" and my suggestion would be to consider attending those 13:13:28 it is a great experience 13:13:38 rodrigods: +1 13:15:03 there will also be events like "Speed mentoring" which would be a nice place to meetup people and sign up if you're interested in receiving guidance - technical or otherwise 13:15:34 watch out the summit schedule for those 13:15:45 And while you're at it be sure to let them know you've completed Outreachy internship and spread the word about the internship :) 13:16:10 any questions? 13:16:44 thanks mahatic and vkmc for informing about the events! 13:18:07 thanks mahatic 13:18:21 really hope that you can attend the summit 13:18:22 :) 13:18:30 and to the next PTG 13:18:56 +1 13:19:06 so... if there are no doubts related to these events 13:19:12 rodrigods, tellesnobrega and I will be doing a panel about the program and why is important to be a Mentor, so if you're gonna to attend the Summit, we will love to share your experience with the attendees :) 13:19:14 let's move to the next item in the agenda 13:19:15 #link https://www.openstack.org/summit/sydney-2017/summit-schedule/events/19332/why-are-you-not-a-mentor-in-the-openstack-community-yet?BackURL=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.openstack.org%2Fsummit%2Fsydney-2017%2Fsummit-schedule%2Fglobal-search%3Ft%3Draildo%23eventid%3D19332 13:19:21 raildo++ 13:19:34 raildo: that's awesome 13:19:37 thanks for the reminder raildo :) 13:19:37 #topic What to do after the internship, how to keep involved 13:20:56 so... this highly depends on your interests 13:21:08 if you want to keep involved in OpenStack, and land a job in OpenStack 13:21:26 the summit will be very productive for you in that sense 13:21:44 otherwise, if you are studying and you don't want to get a job right now 13:21:52 you can keep involved with small tasks 13:22:25 such as... bug triaging, small docs fix, translation 13:22:30 if you can, reviewing 13:22:35 and small bug fixing 13:22:48 +1 13:23:03 yeah, continuing the involvement is really useful as a learning experience 13:23:08 that way you're still involved in the project and with the people 13:24:41 also, keep pinging us, for anything you may need 13:24:42 :) 13:24:49 mentors, mahatic, another suggestion? 13:25:40 reviewing is also very valuable if you're unable to contribute code 13:25:51 and writing blog posts (as you did for the internship) 13:26:06 +1 13:26:34 s/if/even if* 13:26:41 and remember to be active here on irc, this is the best way to getting in touch with the community after the summit :) 13:27:07 O/ 13:27:29 indeed :) 13:28:08 nishaYadav_: welcome 13:29:22 all right 13:29:28 so... if there is nothing else to add 13:29:32 let's move to the next item 13:29:34 interns update 13:29:36 s 13:29:46 #topic Status from interns 13:29:53 sjain_, would you like to start? 13:30:13 yeah sure 13:30:38 So my project was on keystone documentation auditing and I worked closely with keystone and docs team, I helped them in docs migration from openstack manuals.
