16:01:40 <gthiemonge> HI
16:03:13 <johnsom> #topic Announcements
16:03:22 <johnsom> RC1 for the Victoria release has shipped!
16:03:30 <johnsom> #link https://releases.openstack.org/victoria/index.html
16:03:47 <johnsom> Thank you everyone for all of your work in landing patches!
16:04:27 <johnsom> We got through 143 priority review patches!
16:06:19 <gthiemonge> 143! that's impressive
16:06:43 <johnsom> Yes.
16:07:14 <johnsom> Also of note, we have no PTL for Octavia. I will have a section later in the meeting to discuss that situation.
16:07:21 <johnsom> Any other announcements today?
16:08:10 <johnsom> #topic Brief progress reports / bugs needing review
16:08:35 <johnsom> Ok, I have mostly been looking at reviews and working to get our gates stable again.
16:08:56 <johnsom> The drop in swap space on the nodepool instances has caused a bit of chaos across a bunch of projects.
16:09:30 <johnsom> I also posted a patch to make the /healthcheck a bit more resilient.
16:09:51 <johnsom> It's been on my back-burner list for a while, so wanted to get that posted.
16:10:22 <johnsom> Any other updates from folks?
16:11:02 <gthiemonge> nop, I have worked on a lot of downstream stuff
16:11:20 <johnsom> Yeah, I have been as well
16:11:30 <johnsom> #topic Octavia PTL
16:11:39 <johnsom> Ok, let's move on to the main topic today.
16:12:06 <johnsom> I am going to be PTL for Designate for Wallaby.
16:12:21 <johnsom> As I mentioned at the last meeting, I did not nominate myself for Octavia PTL.
16:12:38 <johnsom> Unfortunately no one else nominated themselves either.
16:12:51 <johnsom> That means the PTL position is still open.
16:13:35 <johnsom> It's not too late if someone has an interest. The TC can appoint someone for the position (volunteers are very welcome).
16:14:27 <johnsom> The other option is to disband the PTL role,
16:14:31 <johnsom> #link https://governance.openstack.org/tc/resolutions/20200803-distributed-project-leadership.html
16:14:47 <johnsom> Though no project has tried this and I don't think it's a good idea.
16:15:28 <johnsom> So, that said, is there anyone interested in being Octavia PTL for Wallaby?
16:15:48 <johnsom> I of course will still be part of the Octavia team and helping out.
16:16:41 <rm_work> I had hoped we would get some fresh face to sign up
16:16:51 <rm_work> but if no one is able, I can do it again
16:16:57 <johnsom> Me too.
16:17:03 <gthiemonge> johnsom: you've done a great job as PTL, it's difficult to find someone to replace you :D
16:17:33 <johnsom> gthiemonge Thank you. We have a great community which really helps.
16:18:32 <johnsom> Any discussion on the above?
16:21:26 <haleyb> at worst i could volunteer to take on some of the roles, like keeping gate green, releases...
16:21:28 <johnsom> If not, rm_work thank you for volunteering to fill the position for Wallaby.
16:21:52 <rm_work> yes haleyb, I run on a platform of extreme delegation :)
16:22:22 <haleyb> vice-PTL or lieutenant-PTL :)
16:22:46 <haleyb> but as i think discusses on the ML, sometimes this can be problematic
16:23:14 <rm_work> we have roles for these things
16:23:34 <rm_work> release-manager ( cgoncalves has done this ) and liasons
16:23:35 <johnsom> Yeah, it's not like it's a huge amount of stuff to do and delegation is perfectly acceptable
16:24:47 <johnsom> So it sounds like we have an answer. rm_work are you going to delegate letting the TC know? grin
16:24:58 <rm_work> no, I got this one :)
16:25:18 <haleyb> all hail the new PTL, or DTL?
16:25:22 <johnsom> Ok, thank you!
16:25:42 * johnsom chants "Four more years!"
16:26:20 <gthiemonge> :)
16:26:32 <johnsom> #topic Open Discussion
16:26:37 <johnsom> Any other topics today?
16:28:35 <johnsom> Ok, thank you all and especially rm_work!
