21:02:25 <mriedem> #link Newton release schedule: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Nova/Newton_Release_Schedule
21:02:31 <mriedem> #info Today is the priority spec approval freeze. Anything still in nova-specs for review under specs/newton needs to be moved to specs/ocata else I'm going to abandon.
21:02:46 <mriedem> i've already started abandoning some non-priority specs that were rotting
21:02:58 <mriedem> there are some priority ones still up for resource providers
21:03:11 <mriedem> i don't know how many though....
21:03:28 <mriedem> #info Aug 22-26: final non-client library release (oslo) - so if you need things released from dependent libraries get them done soon (oslo.policy?)
21:03:57 <mriedem> alaski: ^ aren't we dependent on some CLI / entrypoint stuff getting out of oslo.policy?
21:04:22 <alaski> the things we need are already there
21:04:26 <jaypipes> o/
21:04:31 <alaski> the entrypoint stuff needs to go in nova
21:05:03 <mriedem> so effective policy and duplicates is already in oslo.policy?
21:05:14 <alaski> yes
21:05:20 <mriedem> and released?
21:05:31 <mriedem> and g-r'ed?
21:05:33 <mriedem> oh my
21:05:36 <alaski> now, I do need to get it working fully because there was some odness with configs I didn't expect
21:05:38 <alaski> mriedem: yep
21:05:48 <alaski> so small fixes may be needed
21:05:56 <mriedem> ok
21:06:06 <mriedem> we've got 2 weeks
21:06:11 <alaski> noted
21:06:23 <mriedem> any questions from anyone else on schedules?
21:06:37 <mriedem> just a reminder that 9/2 is n-3 and feature freeze
21:06:42 <mriedem> so 3 weeks away
21:06:53 <jaypipes> 4 weeks.
21:06:54 <mriedem> well more like 4
21:06:55 <mriedem> yeah
21:07:01 <mriedem> let's pretend it's 3
21:07:19 <mriedem> #topic bugs
21:07:29 <mriedem> gate is a-ok
21:07:44 <mriedem> i still have to sort out https://review.openstack.org/#/c/349014/
21:07:54 <mriedem> so we can re-enable the test that was failing last week
21:08:06 <mriedem> danpb gave me some pointers though
21:08:23 <mriedem> in third party ci status, Intel NFV CI is voting now
21:08:32 <mriedem> wznoinsk is on the hook for that
21:08:42 <mriedem> so speak up if anyone sees any weirdness
21:09:05 <mriedem> no critical bugs
21:09:07 <mriedem> moving on

21:10:39 <mriedem> #topic subteam highlights
21:10:49 <mriedem> alaski: cellsv2 meeting news?
21:11:05 <alaski> mostly we discussed patches under review
21:11:13 <alaski> progress on most fronts
21:11:28 <alaski> I have a few patches I'm currently working on, otherwise everything for N seems up
21:11:46 <alaski> that's about all I can recall
21:12:02 <alaski> oh
21:12:09 <alaski> we need some grenade testing
21:12:26 <alaski> I need to pester the responsible party on that
21:12:38 <mriedem> he who cannot be named
21:12:45 <alaski> but we should get that in N to make our lives easier for O
21:12:48 * dansmith wonders who we're talking about
21:12:52 <mriedem> satan
21:12:56 <mriedem> we're talking about satan
21:13:05 * Vek was thinking Voldemort
21:13:07 <auggy> the flying spaghetti monster
21:13:08 <dansmith> oh good, as long as it's not me, I'm good
21:13:18 <alaski> I have some bad news...
21:13:27 <alaski> anyways, that's all
21:13:30 <Vek> hehe :)
21:13:36 <mriedem> i thought there was more to that
21:13:39 <mriedem> ok
21:13:41 <jlvillal> o/
21:13:45 <jaypipes> mriedem: from the scheduler/resource tracker side of things, we're progressing pretty well. got the aggregate metadata to api db patches in and there are about 35 or so patches outstanding in review from me, cdent, and dansmith around the REST API and objects work. Hoping now that Chris is back to work that we'll push forward and get reviews done over the next week.
21:14:12 * jaypipes has to run and drop jules off at a restaurant... :( will be back shortly.
21:14:17 <mriedem> thanks
21:14:36 <mriedem> alaski: dansmith: speaking of, i'm close on https://review.openstack.org/#/c/300177/ just need to review the latest
21:14:40 <mriedem> but should be good to get in today
21:14:53 <mriedem> i don't know where we're sitting with dynamic resource classes and such
21:14:57 <alaski> okay, I'll rereview
21:15:25 <mriedem> live migration meeting, was anyone there?
21:15:29 <mriedem> i didn't make it
21:15:55 <mriedem> i see tdurakov has a change up to add nfs back to the live migration job
21:15:58 <mriedem> but it was failing last night
21:16:11 <mriedem> otherwise all review should probably just be on mdbooth's imagebackend refactor series
21:16:25 <mriedem> sdague: you around?
21:16:44 <mriedem> for the api meeting,
21:16:57 <mriedem> we mostly talked about the os-interface deprecation thread/spec and decided to defer that to ocata
21:17:08 <mriedem> and gmann's imageRef uuid fix is merged
21:17:25 <mriedem> the other thing is the user_id policy enforcement spec https://review.openstack.org/#/c/324068/
21:18:05 <mriedem> we also need to resolve https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1609039
21:18:05 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1609039 in OpenStack Compute (nova) "Should not be able to sort instances based on joined tables" [High,Triaged]
21:18:11 <mriedem> which doesn't have an owner yet
21:18:35 <mriedem> lbeliveau: was there an sriov/pci meeting this week?
21:18:53 <mikal> .
21:18:53 <mriedem> alright moving on
21:18:55 <lbeliveau> mriedem: yes, but it was pretty quick
21:19:00 <mriedem> lbeliveau: ah ok
21:19:15 <mriedem> lbeliveau: anything you want to mention?
21:19:18 <lbeliveau> we landed a few patches for migration
21:19:30 <lbeliveau> no, good for now
21:19:33 <mriedem> ok
21:19:37 <mriedem> #topic stuck reviews
21:19:42 <mriedem> there was nothing on the agenda
21:19:50 <mriedem> #topic open discussion
21:19:56 <mriedem> nothing on the agenda, so i'll open it up
21:20:01 <hemna> mriedem, hey
21:20:16 <mriedem> yessir
21:20:23 <hemna> so I just filed a bug against detach for shelved instance
21:20:37 <hemna> there was a tempest tests that had a skip removed recently
21:20:46 <hemna> and now it's breaking several cinder 3rd party CIs
21:20:52 <mriedem> link?
21:20:55 <hemna> because the detach is passing a bogus connector
21:21:02 <hemna> https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1609984
21:21:02 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1609984 in OpenStack Compute (nova) "volume-detach fails for shelved instance" [Undecided,New]
21:21:08 <hemna> https://review.openstack.org/#/c/339472/
21:21:11 <scottda> #link https://review.openstack.org/#/c/339472/
21:21:16 <mriedem> https://review.openstack.org/#/c/257853/ ?
21:21:18 <hemna> that's the patch that just removed the skip
21:21:35 <mriedem> so revert the tempest patch?
21:21:41 <hemna> I think so yah
21:21:56 <hemna> I don't see how this will work until detach for shelved can get fixed
21:22:13 <mriedem> ok
21:22:25 <mriedem> i think andrearosa has done some work in this area so he might know more
21:22:36 <mriedem> but i'd have to dig into the bug i guess
21:22:40 <hemna> ok
21:22:48 <mriedem> #help https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1609984 is breaking cinder 3rd party CIs
21:22:50 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1609984 in OpenStack Compute (nova) "volume-detach fails for shelved instance" [Undecided,New]
21:22:51 <hemna> I just wanted to raise it here with you guys.
21:23:25 <mriedem> ok, should probably drop that in the -qa channel also
21:23:58 <mriedem> in the meantime,
21:24:04 <mriedem> tempest can be configured to not run shelve tests
21:24:20 <hemna> we are going to just add a skip in our CI for now as a quick fix
21:24:21 <mriedem> anything else for open discussion?
21:24:26 <hemna> we've been failing 100% since that landed
21:24:31 <lbeliveau> yes quick one
21:24:51 <lbeliveau> forgot, we got jays +2, would need another core to look at it https://review.openstack.org/#/c/328983/
21:25:43 <mriedem> lbeliveau: is ci covering that?
21:25:58 <Vek> lbeliveau: reviewed
21:26:09 <mriedem> heh oh well nevermind
21:26:16 <lbeliveau> mriedem: not yet, we proposed a tempest, but it's not merged yet
21:26:25 <mriedem> ok
21:26:33 <mriedem> i wasn't sure if this was one of those cases where resize on local would test it
21:26:49 <lbeliveau> thanks !
21:27:09 <mriedem> alright, if nothing else, we'll call it a meeting
21:27:20 <mriedem> thanks everyone
21:27:22 <mriedem> #endmeeting
