17:01:05 <sergmelikyan> o/
17:01:14 <ruhe> \o
17:01:25 <henar> hi
17:02:29 <StanLagun> hi
17:02:45 <katyafervent> hi
17:03:03 <sergmelikyan> Wow, feared that today we would have not so much people joining :)
17:04:09 <sergmelikyan> let's get started...
17:04:15 <sergmelikyan> #topic Action Items Review
17:04:39 <sergmelikyan> #1 sergmelikyan, prepare etherpads for summit
17:05:00 <sergmelikyan> Sadly due to pre-release activities was not able to start them :(
17:05:20 <sergmelikyan> I hoped that today we can discuss topics for summit sessions
17:05:58 <sergmelikyan> #topic Summit Etherpads
17:06:44 <sergmelikyan> I suspect that this topic may take whole meeting, any topics that we need to discuss before?
17:09:14 <sergmelikyan> So for the summit we have 1 fishbowl session, 2 work session and whole table for contributors meetup
17:10:04 <sergmelikyan> Each session is around 45 minutes, and I think better to start with drafting our fishbowl session
17:10:35 <sergmelikyan> btw, our schedule https://libertydesignsummit.sched.org/overview/type/design+summit/Murano
17:10:49 <sergmelikyan> #info Design Summit Schedule for Murano https://libertydesignsummit.sched.org/overview/type/design+summit/Murano
17:12:09 <sergmelikyan> https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/murano-kilo-draft-etherpads
17:12:44 <ruhe> what major themes should we discuss there?
17:13:48 <sergmelikyan> Good question, I would say we should start with overview of the next release
17:13:54 <ruhe> new API design? Package versioning? muranopl debugger?
17:14:29 <sergmelikyan> ruhe, I think on this session it will be contrproductive to discuss actual design
17:14:57 <sergmelikyan> It's a big room that may attend up-to 300 people
17:15:07 <ruhe> yeah...
17:15:11 <ruhe> 300 people
17:15:33 <sergmelikyan> And they designed to gather attention, more than design. Work session are more suitable for designing
17:15:44 <sergmelikyan> and discussions
17:15:44 <ruhe> we better spend this time to promote the project, share results from kilo, roadmap for L
17:15:54 <sergmelikyan> Yeah, exactly my thoughts
17:16:08 <sergmelikyan> I am not sure about covering Kilo, do you think we should?
17:16:52 <ruhe> just a quick overview
17:18:38 <sergmelikyan> 5m?
17:18:52 <ruhe> yeah, not more than that
17:20:12 <sergmelikyan> I am filling etherpad throgh our discussion
17:20:44 <sergmelikyan> What about covering hot topics like Kubernetes?
17:21:08 <ruhe> shure!
17:21:52 <sergmelikyan> We have around 2-3 presentation on the OpenStack Summit about this topic, so probably we need to focus on implementation details?
17:22:16 <sergmelikyan> Like scaling and so on, I mean how it's done in Murano?
17:22:51 <ruhe> StanLagun: what do you think? ^
17:24:53 <sergmelikyan> ruhe, looks like I was right regarding participation in the meeting :)
17:24:54 <StanLagun> ruhe, honestly I don't know. On one hand k8s is indeed a hot topic. On the other end it just an ordinary Murano application. We didn't create any new technologies for it. It is written entirely in MuranoPL and could be written a year ago if there was k8s at that time
17:25:15 <StanLagun> *other hand*
17:25:41 <ruhe> StanLagun: but you can show what helped you to integrate Kubernetes into OpenStack
17:26:52 <StanLagun> ruhe, the problem that it is not about Murano. It is about one particular application
17:27:03 <sergmelikyan> can't disagree with that, on other hand it took not so much time to bring k8s to OpenStack with Murano, and I am sure we can show some interesting points that made it easy
17:27:17 <sergmelikyan> But will it be suitable for Design Summit?
17:28:04 <sergmelikyan> let's mark this topic with question and see if we can think about how it can be presented right?
17:28:55 <sergmelikyan> #action StanLagun, try to find out do we have interesting staff around k8s and Murano
17:30:12 <sergmelikyan> I think we should spend reasonable amount of time around our Roadmap for Liberty, and gather feedback about what people think
17:30:36 <StanLagun> this is a good topic for master class / brown bag session etc
17:30:43 <sergmelikyan> There is changes around Release Cycle Management that make planning more relaxed: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Release_Cycle_Management/Liberty_Tracking
17:32:04 <sergmelikyan> So essentially it's proposed to have more vague roadmap for the cycle, and we can gather feedback during this session and consider while choosing to which feature invest our time
17:32:55 <sergmelikyan> Folks, how do you think how much time we should spend around this?
17:33:14 <sergmelikyan> Schedule is really tight... 45m for fishbowl...
17:33:59 <ruhe> fishbowl is how many people?
17:34:09 <sergmelikyan> 300
17:34:13 <ruhe> ah
17:34:14 <sergmelikyan> up to 300
17:34:25 <ruhe> it's the same session you're talking abou :)
17:34:47 <sergmelikyan> Yeah, we started with that session :) We still working on agenda for this session
17:36:11 <sergmelikyan> Let's start with 15m for that one :)
17:36:17 <ruhe> i think we should continue discussion in the etherpad
17:37:30 <sergmelikyan> ruhe, I though that we will draft rough agenda now and continue refining in etherpad
17:37:41 <sergmelikyan> ruhe, you think it is unproductive?
17:37:54 * sergmelikyan feel like that, with only few people participating
17:38:12 <ruhe> yeah, this reason
17:38:29 <sergmelikyan> yeah...
17:39:04 <sergmelikyan> #info further discussion about sessions will be continued in the etherpad https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/murano-kilo-draft-etherpads
17:39:30 <sergmelikyan> With that sad note we are moving to open discussion...
17:39:39 <sergmelikyan> #topic Open Discussion
17:40:08 <ruhe> StanLagun: you always wanted design session, you should come up with nice ideas ;)
17:41:18 <sergmelikyan> We will have whole friday for heated discussions :)
17:41:42 <StanLagun> I have a long list of problems that we need to design. Many of them are in our Liberty roadmap
17:41:44 <sergmelikyan> ruhe, I will be really missing you on summit :(
17:42:39 <StanLagun> ruhe, I thought you are going there
17:46:36 <sergmelikyan> btw, this time flight to America should be less tough than previous :) Only 15h vs 24 to Atlanta
17:46:55 <sergmelikyan> I learned my lessons and selected flight much more carefully :)
17:48:35 * sergmelikyan America = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America
17:51:16 <sergmelikyan> Let's finish a little bit early today? I hope next meeting will be much more productive given short time before the summit...
17:51:21 <ruhe> StanLagun: I'm going
17:51:32 <ruhe> +1 to finish earlier
17:53:04 <sergmelikyan> ruhe, O.O
17:53:10 <sergmelikyan> You are going?!
17:53:20 <ruhe> surprise :)
17:53:28 <sergmelikyan> Yay!!!
17:53:32 <sergmelikyan> Awesome!
