pabelangerin openstack-infra, we have the ability to cache things into the images we boot for nodepool. For example, all git repos at git.o.o. If we wanted to do the same with ansible-network, I guess that would mean we'd need to provide specific images in nodepool, since jobs running in sf.io might not want those repos on disk17:11
pabelangerdmsimard: fbo_: nhicher: apevec: ^17:12
nhicherthere are already image for DCI for example. Do you know what are the requirements pabelanger ?17:17
pabelangernhicher: we want to start caching more things onto the images that ansible-network uses, like network appliance images. To avoid hitting the web to download them.17:21
pabelangerbut, with upstream we really try to avoid per project specific images.  But in the case of ansible-network, they have their own tenant in zuul, so it does make sense for them to maybe have specific images for cached repos / images17:22
pabelangernhicher: the idea is to write a devstack-cache element but for ansible-network that could cache its git repos and additional images needed for testing17:25
dmsimardMakes sense17:31
nhicherok, on sf.io we have 3 images, centos-7, centos-dci-7 and fedora-25. It make sense for me to have specifics images for your project. For exemple DCI use pip, but not SF18:23
nhicherbut I agree we need to avoid to much images, we tried to have only one base image, but requirements were not the same for all projetcs18:23

pabelangernhicher: right, I think we should aim to make this cache logic generic as possible, so DCi / SF.io / ansible-network can use the same base elements for the fedora nodes, but pick different data to cache18:59
pabelangernhicher: also where did we leave off on the fedora-27 DIB, did that get online?19:00
pabelangerwe should stop using fedora-25 since it is EOL and no longer getting security updates19:00
nhicherI'm building a fedora-27 on a test environment pabelanger, but sf.io is not reachable (network issue)19:01
pabelangernhicher: FIPs?19:01
