fricklerJayF: iiuc these three should be ready to be merged if you have a moment https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/912712 https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/910454 https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/913294, release-team could then go ahaed with EOLing old branches09:02
ttxFYI I just sent a release email to all PTLs and release liaisons listed in projects.yaml, and got a bounce for the email address of Grzegorz Grasza (Barbican PTL). This may or may not indicate it's not valid...11:52
ttxhmm, looks like a spam bounce, ignore me11:57

JayFfrickler: I'm not chair12:39
fricklerttx: that's xek in #openstack-release12:39
fricklerJayF: you are until someone else is elected12:40
JayFI stopped being chair when the election results landed. I'm still happy to help land governance changes, but the title removal is merged with the election results typically12:40
JayFI don't care if I have the title or not as long as the consensus is cool for me to mash the buttons12:40
rosmaitaJayF: according to the charter, you are still chair: "The term of the TC chair will continue until death, resignation, or removal, the election of the next TC chair, or the TC chair ceases to be a TC member. "12:41
frickler"The term of the TC chair will continue until ... the election of the next TC chair, or the TC chair ceases to be a TC member." that's pretty clear IMO https://governance.openstack.org/tc/reference/charter.html#tc-chair12:41
rosmaitai get out of being vice-chair in virtue of no longer being a TC member12:41
rosmaitaso keep mashing those buttons!12:42
fricklerrosmaita: JayF: so actually IMO this part https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/913912/4/reference/members.yaml#20 of the election results patch was wrong and should not have been merged13:22
JayFfrickler: yeah, I knew the patch reflected that in any event13:37
JayFfrickler: I'll look at patches when Ironic PTG + after meetings are done13:37
ianychoifrickler: It is usual to re-initialize the role of chair/vice-chair once there are new TC elected. From my remembrance, ideally, it is decided during the next TC meeting after election is done like https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/896465 . Not sure too much but would it be great if there is some time slot to discuss election process during the remaining PTG week?13:47
spotz[m]Maybe in the section for TC diversity?13:56
fricklerianychoi: I don't know too much of TC history, maybe there wasn't a lack of TC chair candidates before?13:57
gmannyeah, we never had TC without chair but outgoing chair is chair until we get the new chair which I remember I added it explicitly to avoid any duration of TC with no chair. 14:27
gmannJayF: also members update in gerrit group, let me know if you can update that otherwise I will go ahead and do https://review.opendev.org/admin/groups/c88faeb0c52f35ee530be8defcc9627ea87b28df,members14:28
JayFgmann: feel free to JFDI, I will do it later if you do not.14:29
gmannack, let me do so that new members can start voting if they want14:29
gmanndone14:34
gmanntc-members: updated the gerrit group with current tc members https://review.opendev.org/admin/groups/c88faeb0c52f35ee530be8defcc9627ea87b28df,members14:34
gouthamr_thank you gmann++14:34

ianychoiThank you gmann for the explanation. I will try to join in the time slot on diversity handling14:40
gmann++ thanks14:41
JayFfrickler: I got those19:11
gmanntc-members: as JayF mentioned many times and call out for the chair for next term, please raise your hand if you are planning to do so. 19:14
gmannJayF: As this is important things to solve, can we discuss about it sometime in PTG tomorrow or Friday?19:15
JayFgmann: I was planning on calling on people to run for chair as part of the overall intro19:15
gmannwe should have chair selected by this time but as this did not happen we should discuss and solve it asap19:15
JayFgmann: it is not my intention to serve as chair much longer and I will ensure that happens :D 19:16
gmannack +119:16
gmannthanks19:16

tkajinam^^^ resolved conflicts. we are retiring a few puppet openstack modules which caused conflict in legacy.yaml update. unfortunately update wiped out all votes but I hope these can be approved again...21:02
tkajinamthis time I put these two in a single chain so we may not see conflicts again21:03
