mnaserbut i've hit max patience00:03
mnaserso just going to leave that aside for my personal sanity00:04
opendevreviewTakashi Kajinami proposed openstack/governance master: Retire puppet-sahara: Retire Repository from the Governance Repository  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/91045401:58
fricklermnaser: well IIUC https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/910240 would kind of do what you asked for, keeping both drivers out of tree?06:31
opendevreviewJake Yip proposed openstack/election master: Add Jake Yip candidacy for Magnum 2024.2 PTL  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/election/+/91013207:00
fricklerJayF: I abandoned two stalled project-config changed for repo additions due to CI failures and inactivity. I -1ed the corresponding governance changes and would suggest to abandon them, too, unless you want to reach out to the submitters first https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/869752 https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/86758807:28
fricklerI also would like to see positive feedback on https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/910019 before we proceed with the rename in gerrit, not sure how to get people to review that while zuul says V-1 though?07:29
noonedeadpunkJayF: did you really meant pinging me regarding dnsmasq? As I have nothing to do with Canonical (and never had)08:03
tonybJayF: As we have reached the 'email_deadline' for the current election (as per: https://governance.openstack.org/election/#electorate) can you confirm and if desired tag/release the SHA for the governance repo that we should use for roll-generation08:05
tonybianychoi: ^^08:05
opendevreviewPranali Deore proposed openstack/election master: Add Pranali Deore's candidacy for Glance PTL 2024.2  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/election/+/91047508:06

opendevreviewDmitriy Rabotyagov proposed openstack/election master: Add Dmitriy Rabotyagov candidacy for OpenStack-Ansible PTL  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/election/+/91047608:17
jamespageJayF - I can if need be although reading the backscroll I see Jammy now has 2.90 as a base post recent security updates.09:06
jamespagechangelog detailing this - https://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/d/dnsmasq/dnsmasq_2.90-0ubuntu0.22.04.1/changelog09:06
jamespageif you still need me to go poke on this let me know09:06
fricklergtema: seems https://openinfra.dev/a/community/members/101132 is out of date, it would also be nice if you could state your current affiliation there (relevant in relation to the TC election)09:48
gtemafrickler - I see the affiliation set09:49
gtemaon the other side since some weeks ago I can't login to my profile (at least using firefox) - too many JS errors and as a result just white screen09:52
fricklergtema: hmm, now I do see it, too. maybe that site is indeed weird, I'm also using firefox fwiw09:52
gtemaok, managed to login after cleaning up local FF storage (not only cookies)09:55
opendevreviewMichal Nasiadka proposed openstack/governance master: Add magnum-capi-helm to Magnum project  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/91024010:20
mnasiadkaHello - if ^^ could be reviewed from governance perspective - we'd like to move forward in moving the magnum-capi-helm driver under openstack governance (and that has been agreed on the weekly Magnum meeting)10:22
SvenKieskeHi, I got a noob question: what terms in the bylaws make it possible that the TC can decide about e.g. programming language used? https://governance.openstack.org/tc/reference/new-language-requirements.html11:42
SvenKieskeI find that this contradicts 4.13 e) of the bylaws: https://openinfra.dev/legal/bylaws  "the OpenStack Technical Committee shall not manage the technical matters related to an Open Infrastructure Project."11:43
fungiSvenKieske: it means other than openstack. e.g. the openstack technical committee shall not manage the technical matters related to kata containers or starlingx, only those of the openstack project12:48
fungiit was a necessary clarification when the bylaws changed to allow the addition of new open infrastructure projects, since the (openstack) technical committee was already described in the bylaws up to that point12:50
SvenKieskethanks for the clarification, it's also rather hard to find publications by the board tbh, it's only really viable via google/openstack wiki..13:02
fungiSvenKieske: the board doesn't publish anything other than meeting minutes really, but you can find them linked from http://board.openinfra.dev/13:07
fungithe foundation as a whole has some legal documents approved by the board and various member classes, depending on what it is, published here: https://openinfra.dev/legal13:08
fungiSvenKieske: you may also want to have a look at https://lists.openinfra.dev/archives/list/foundation@lists.openinfra.dev/message/6FBOOK7WVBRHYOBQPTF2T2CNJOO7XMSQ/ which was approved by all member classes in january, but hasn't taken effect yet. it finally rewords the section of the bylaws you're asking about to no longer mention the openstack tc by name, and just says that the technical13:16
fungimatters for open infrastructure projects will be managed by each project's governance bodies13:16

ianychoiJayF tonyb: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/releases/+/910523 is SHA proposal for roll-generation15:18
JayFSvenKieske: I'll note that the platform we publish is generally geared towards setting a common baseline. Historically we've had no objection to projects using or testing alternative versions (e.g. we used to have pypy jobs in some projects). It's just a matter of, you're not going to have the whole OpenStack apparatus helping you get them tested15:28
JayF(and oslo libraries will generally follow support put in platform)15:29
opendevreviewDavid Wilde proposed openstack/election master: Add Dave Wilde's candidacy for Keystone PTL 2024.2  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/election/+/91052615:47

rosmaitagmann: left a comment for you on https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/908859 with a suggestion for how we can move it along17:08
gmannrosmaita: thanks, will check after QA meeting17:08
gmannrosmaita: looked at it. I thought of making the change for the Murano case and not the general policy for stopping release for security bugs. But as we are going with special resolution for Murano, lets do the general policy in my change covering all the cases including when to stop release etc. agree on that. will rebase it and review resolution17:14
