JayF#info Concerns continue about heavy db usage in keystone; investigation is planned.18:17
JayF#action knikolla (or delegate) by PTG will investigate DB usage patterns in Keystone. Progress to be tracked during intermediate TC meetings.18:19
JayF#action JayF to ensure we have a cross-project performance session at the PTG centered around DB usage patterns; ensure SQLAlchemy and oslo.db maintainers and invested parties are invite. Specific focus on strangely-high query counts from Keystone and Neutron reported during devstack jobs.18:25

JayF#topic Call for Volunteers for Vice-Chair18:37
fungiJayF: as for what the charter requires, it states that you will *seek* for a vice chair. but no, it doesn't say what happens if nobody volunteers18:43
JayF#action JayF to appoint rosmaita as vice chair18:44
fungi"The elected TC chair will seek another TC member to volunteer to serve as vice chair until the next chair election is held."18:44
JayF#info Other interested parties are still welcome to volunteer as an additional vice-chair to learn about chair duties.18:44
JayF#topic Open Discussion and Reviews18:45
JayF#info Proposed times & Topics for TC PTG sessions are in https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/tc-ptg-october-202318:48
JayFWill email about ^ that after the TC.18:48
JayF#action spotz[m] to take ownership of planning Operator Hour sessions for vPTG18:51
JayFspotz[m]: I think for practical purposes it might have been aprice who had an etherpad with times/etherpads for the operator hours that was sent out afterwards?18:53
clarkbone thing Iv'e thought may be helpful is prompting the folks you want to participate (in this case operators) with a specific task or interaction you want from them18:54
JayFspotz[m]: looks like https://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-discuss/2022-September/030301.html is from last year18:54
clarkb"bring a bug. we'll triage it together than pair you with a developer so that you can work together to fix it"18:54
funginot wanting to interrupt, but the ptg coordinators are talking about switching to jitsi-meet by default18:58
JayFnice!18:58
fungithe main concern is that announcing it this close to the event would be disruptive for some teams18:59
JayFYeah it probably would be; but it's nice to see the technology is to that point.18:59
fungiand there are some changes needed to ptgbot to make that just a magical default18:59
fungigoogle meet is not accessible in mainland china, as a data point19:00
JayF#action JayF to see upsides/downsides to proposing jitsi-meet as technology for TC video meetings19:02
JayF#endmeeting19:04
opendevmeetMeeting ended Tue Oct  3 19:04:13 2023 UTC.  Information about MeetBot at http://wiki.debian.org/MeetBot . (v 0.1.4)19:04

opendevmeetLog:            https://meetings.opendev.org/meetings/tc/2023/tc.2023-10-03-18.00.log.html19:04
clarkbJayF: jitsi meet calls the first person who joins the moderator. If you click the participants button on the bottom control panel it brings up a thing on the right with all sorts of controls. You can mut everyone and remove their ability to unmute themselves for example19:07
clarkbyou can also set a password to join. Note this password isn't permanent for that url until the end of time. It is just as long as the current call is occuring. Then that name can be reused without a password and a new password can be set19:09
JayFIt sounds like there would be a potential for abuse in a system like that of someone parking in the TC meeting room before the scheduled meeting, and (if they were trying to be abusive/trolly) have something offensive on broadcast waiting for folks to join, for instance19:11
JayFIn zoom, we have this problem too, but someone with the moderator code can take back over, which is the TC Chair and, in practice, Chairs emeritus (we don't cycle the cred)19:12
dansmithyeah I was going to say.. sounds maybe too ephemeral19:12
clarkbyes it is intended to be easy to use I think. It hasn't bee na problem yet19:13
clarkbwe can optiimize for hypotheticals or keep using it until it is an issue and restart the server or whatever in that instance19:13
JayFIt's not a deal breaker per se, but it is a data point that I'll make sure to write down :) That's all I'm trying to do is just document how things are19:15
spotz[m]checking with diablo_rojo on how she wants to do the registering then will send the email19:15
JayFMeeting recording is currently uploading to youtube channel.19:23
JayFvideo is up here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEYyVIKBhVQ19:39
JayFI don't think we put this link anywhere, do we?19:39
spotz[m]I don't think so.20:31
spotz[m]Kendall was planning on mailing the operators out tomorrow and asked me to hold on my email. Either way something is going out tomorrow:)20:32
diablo_rojoYes and I can probably add mention of the operator hours being added to the schedule. 20:43
gmannJayF: posting pink here and ML is enough. thanks21:07
opendevreviewJay Faulkner proposed openstack/governance master: Appoint Brian Rosmaita Vice-Chair for 2024.1 cycle  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/89726422:16
JayFhttps://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/897264 is up to appoint rosmaita to vice-chair; I will merge it tomorrow, once CI passes.22:20
