gmannttx: what you think about adding Tempest and Patrole (https://docs.openstack.org/patrole/latest/) in openstack map ? both are heavily used in production for openstack based cloud testing.  may be we can add a section of testing and move Rally (which is in 'OPTIMIZATION / POLICY TOOLS' section ) also in that ?02:46

corvusasettle, stephenfin: https://review.opendev.org/677028 WIP: sphinx latex build tests20:35
corvusasettle, stephenfin: i'm not done yet, but i've identified the 3 blockers that prevented nova from compiling.  there are satisfactory solutions to 2 of them; the third i have "solved" by removing the literalinclude of nova.conf20:36
corvusnonetheless, that at least builds a mostly-complete pdf so i thought it was a good checkpoint20:37
corvusone of those i have a good enough handle on that i went ahead and added it as #7 to https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/pdf-goal-train-common-problems20:42

corvusasettle, stephenfin: okay a little more investigation into the literalinclude problem, and i have a solution if we want it.  with that in place, including the sample nova.conf produces 91 consecutive pages of included sample config.  i'm skeptical that's what we really want to do, so i'm going to suspend further work on actually implementing that until we know it's desirable.  i added some notes to23:15
corvusline 62 of the etherpad about that.23:15
corvusasettle, stephenfin: at this point, i think i've reached a stopping point -- i have useful new information, and we should all regroup next week and chat about what i've learned and how to proceed.23:16
