timburke:-( that stable backport never landed -- looks like py2 gate troubles? sorry klamath, might be a bit longer than i was hoping to get a fixed merged to wallaby...04:42

klamath@timburke no worries, I will follow that PR and pull in master wallaby once it gets merged 14:10

atmarkhello, is possible to have two openstack deployments of swift integrate to  single ceph rgw as backend ? 19:22
opendevreviewClay Gerrard proposed openstack/swift master: slo: part-number=N query paramater support  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/swift/+/89457019:53
timburkeatmark, i'm not quite sure what you're looking for there -- swift is its own standalone service; ceph's rgw implements most (all?) of the swift APIs but backed by ceph osds instead of swift -- that is, i view them as alternative storage options. what kind of integration were you looking for?20:02
atmarktimburke: can Ceph RGW be used as Swift backend?20:40
klamath@atmark, that wouldnt work since you would be exposing RGW as some sort of FUSE file system to swift, as timburke pointed out, swift and ceph are both object services, they do object storage related tasks, there would be no need to combine them 21:18
timburkefwiw, though, lots of operators have success running rgw as their object storage, and just list it as their object-store endpoint in their keystone service catalog (for example)21:25
opendevreviewTim Burke proposed openstack/swift stable/yoga: [stable-only] Pin smmap on py2  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/swift/+/89628221:26

atmarkthanks21:44
atmarktimburke:  is this what you are talking about https://docs.ceph.com/en/latest/radosgw/keystone/ ? 21:45
