mcapehey all! our swift installation based on rocky release hit the https://bugs.launchpad.net/swift/+bug/1843313 bug, there is a container with broken metadata. Is it sufficient to patch the container-sharder as per bugfix, and set reclaim_age everywhere to say 3600 sec to clean up database? 08:25
mcapethere are lot of entries like ""X-Container-Sysmeta-Shard-Context-13bfd257-0139-48f0-9531-5c0f1bcc4b77": ["{\"max_row\": -1, \"ranges_todo\": 0, \"ranges_done\": 25, \"cleaving_done\": true, \"last_cleave_to_row\": null, \"misplaced_done\": true, \"cursor\": \"\", \"last_modified\": \"1672199492.89505\", \"cleave_to_row\": -1, \"ref\": \"13bfd257-0139-48f0-9531-5c0f1bcc4b77\"}" in metadata field. Container listing does not work anymore.08:28
timburkemcape, yeah, I expect patching and running with a low reclaim age for a while should resolve it -- you'll probably want to borrow from the stein backport; there was a bit of follow-on work to the original fix that got wrapped up a little more neatly on stein: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/swift/+/68956718:32
timburkedon't remember off hand why i only did the one backport for that bug -- might get hairy to apply the patch, sorry18:36
timburkeyou might also consider upgrading swift -- a ton of great stuff has landed since rocky, and we've done our best to make upgrades low-impact (you can continue running py27 into yoga if needed, for example)18:36
