tdasilvaviks___: are you looking for a date or for what's going to be in the next release. History, swift has not published roadmaps per se. You can kind of get a grasp of what's being worked on from the last ptg etherpad: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/swift-ptg-shanghai09:31
tdasilvas/History/Historically09:32
viks___tdasilva: Ok thanks... i wanted for what's going to be in the next release..09:33
tdasilvaI'd say the focus right now is around the s3 api versioning work.09:33
tdasilvain terms of new features, and then of course there's always a good amount of bug fixes09:34
viks___tdasilva: Ok... thanks..  i think https://trello.com/openstackswift is no longer active.. right?09:40
tdasilvaviks___: wouldn't say no longer active, but hasn't been used in a while, correct :)  We should probably have used for s3 versioning ¯\_(ツ)_/¯09:44
tdasilvaviks___: are you looking for any info in particular?09:45
viks___yes... other than versioning, what all things are in the pipeline for s3 compatibility as in https://docs.openstack.org/swift/latest/s3_compat.html09:52
tdasilvaviks___: just speculation on my part, but i think there's been good interest in bucket policies, priorities often change so it's hard to pin down on a single thing09:59
viks___tdasilva: Ok.. thanks10:01
tdasilvaand of course bucket policies is a bit vague too, because i think object expiration, CRR, data tiering all fall under that...10:01
tdasilvaviks___: are you using s3api middleware today? what do you miss from it?10:02
viks___Oh ok..10:02
viks___tdasilva:  yes.. i'm using s3api middleware.. i miss mainly versioning and bucket policy..10:06
tdasilvaand any particular feature of bucket policy?10:07
viks___Nope..10:09

timburketdasilva, bucket *policy* or bucket *lifecycle* work? i think most of what i've been hearing about has been lifecycle-oriented -- which will likely become more important once we've got versioning and old object versions start piling up ;-)17:42
timburkepolicies would be great, too -- don't get me wrong -- but i think we'll have to think a lot more about auth (which we've historically not been very good about)17:43
timburkereminds me, i really need to play around with the new access rules cmurphy presented on in Shanghai: https://www.openstack.org/summit/shanghai-2019/summit-schedule/events/24324/reinventing-access-control-access-rules-in-openstack-keystone17:45
timburkeand look at getting application-credential support into swiftclient... so much to do!17:46

claygthere's something strange with how our s3api acl tests wor18:05
claygsometimes I get the HEAD request in self.swift.calls - sometimes I don't?18:06
claygas near as I can tell the determining factor seems to be if I go looking for it or not?! 😡18:07
claygit's very quantum 🤷‍♂️18:08
