notmynameI've been afk with a customer all day. hope I didn't miss anything00:03
timburkenotmyname: acoles proposed some fixups, i cleaned up a patch, and mattoliverau woke up. i think you're caught up now00:04
notmynamewooo!00:04
mattoliverausounds about right.. right now trying to help with a test deploy of Swift in one of our cloud builds that is missing a bunch of our swift tools (like swift-account-info).. so looks like I may need to go down the RPM rabbit hole to see what someone did wrong for that latest release :(00:06
mattoliverauat least its swift related I guess :P00:06

m_kazuhiromattoliverau: morning! Ah, I have a quick question for you.01:21
mattoliveraum_kazuhiro: sure01:22
m_kazuhiroI'm thinking about splitting general task queue patch (patch 517389) into task-queue changing part and others. Because the size of the patch makes review difficult. But I want to know your opinion.01:26
m_kazuhiroIf you are watching the patch now. Splitting will be disturbance.01:27
openstackgerritKazuhiro MIYAHARA proposed openstack/swift master: Add object-expirer new mode to execute tasks from general task queue  https://review.openstack.org/51738901:28
m_kazuhiro...merge conflict is fixed now.01:29
openstackgerritKazuhiro MIYAHARA proposed openstack/swift master: Add object-expirer new mode to execute tasks from general task queue  https://review.openstack.org/51738901:30
mattoliverauI was planning on looking at it this morning, but been brought into a problem at work I'm not sure how long it'll take. So if you want to simplify the patch by splitting that could help reviews. I can wait. Sorry I've been taking so long. I dont' have as much time as I used too. And stuck working on a product feature, which I'm hoping will take a less time then it used too soon.01:36
m_kazuhiroIt's ok. Thank you for your answer :) I will split the patch.01:40

patchbotpatch 447129 - swift - Configure diskfile per storage policy08:03
acolesrledisez: you're welcome.08:05
*** gkadam has joined #openstack-swift08:06
acolesrledisez: as an afterthought, I wondered if it would be possible to split the patch into two: '1.load diskfile managers from storage policy configured entry points' followed by '2.eliminate diskfile router' so that 2 can be debated separately08:06
acolesbut without actually hacking the code it's hard to know how much extra work that would be.08:07
rledisezso DFR would rely on storage policy class to load the DFM. that would be a simpler patch for sure (I guess)08:07

acolessomething like that. I suspect many of the test changes are due to removing DFR. and in come cases it seems quite hacky to get the tests to pass without DFR.08:17

f0oHi, I'm running into an issue with the ceilometer filter. Basically I have AMQP Durable enabled in my RabbitMQ and swift doesnt seem to be able to specify the same options so it errors with: inequivalent arg 'auto_delete' - Any pointers? Google was quite useless09:17
f0oLooking at ceilometermiddleware/swift.py it doesnt seem like there's any support for that option at all09:20
f0oso I guess the responsible party here is ceilometer? Or who maintains that code?09:20
rledisezf0o: we added the configuration to proxy-server.conf then patched ceilo middleware to load it09:22

f0onice!09:22
f0owaht version is that applied to?09:23
rledisezright now we are running swift 2.15 with ceilo middleware 1.0.2. it still works on swift 2.18. upgrading the middleware is on roadmap ;)09:24
f0owhich __init__ are you refering to in the paste?09:26
f0othe swift.py has 3-4 :D09:26
