MrRonGood morning everyone :)10:09
MrRonI'm still struggling with openstack rally and configuration of exisiting users. I am now able to execute my tests with concurrency = 4 (I have seeded 8 users plus 1 admin). But now I get a lot of fails with Details: Insufficient number of users provided. This is somehow weird because with concurrency 1 I don'T get these failures. I saw some open bug tickets if I google for that error message and ask myself if there is a known10:11

MrRonAnd another thing: If I configure a admin user with a hyphen "-", rally deployment check returns AttributeError: 'dict' object has no attribute 'username' :(10:42
andreykurilinMrRon: hi11:44
andreykurilinMrRon: Specifying existing users via rally deployemnt/env file doesn't work in case of Tempest. It is a hard task to configure tempest to use existing users, at least it was a hard task and since that I have no time to recheck it.  So the was only one option - using only admin for it. If you know how tempest config file should be changed to use existing users, you can specify them via `rally verify configure-verifier ` with `--extend` flag. It11:50
andreykurilinaccept json where top key should be names of sections, values dictionaries where keys names of parameters values - values of these parameters. Also you can use ini format there11:50
andreykurilinAs for `AttributeError: 'dict' object has no attribute 'username'`  please share the full traceback and example of deployment config you are using11:51

MrRonandreykurilin: hi. thank you for helping again. I understand what you write but I think I did it in another way: I have an admin in the tempest config file, that's true. But I have also an tempest_accounts.yaml which tempest is using (inside of it are several users cconfigured). My rally deployment is created with "rally deployment create --file /neutron-etc-tempest/tempest_deployment_config.json", inside of the tempest_deploy12:23
MrRonconfigured like in the tempest_accounts.yaml file. I can see with "rally deployment show" that all users are accepted.12:23
MrRonThe output shows me 8 users.12:23
MrRonBut when I start "rally verify start --concurrency 4" then I get a lot of the described "Details: Insufficient number of users provided"12:24
MrRonWith concurrency = 1 these errors don't occour12:25
MrRonrally deployment create --file /some.json should configue rally to use all configured users from the json, right?12:26
openstackgerritMerged openstack/rally master: Update upper-constraints.txt  https://review.openstack.org/63117112:26
MrRonOr does rally verify start still use the tempest.conf configured users ?12:26
andreykurilinMrRon: I would like to mention that Rally was not designed as just "tempest runner" and it was implemented as an additional feature. `rally deployment`/`rally env`component is entry point for specifying credentials to your cloud in unified way. These creds are used for both `rally task`(the most powerful part of Rally) and `rally verify`. `rally verify`DOESN'T use 'users' section from deployment. As I said it was hard to implement feature. `rally12:55
andreykurilinverify` takes only admin, discovers some openstack resources and creates a tempest config file based on it. I guess you can specify your tempest_accounts.yaml in tempest conf file (via extend feaature), but i do not know the format of tempest for listing users or to specifying path to tempest_accounts.yaml file12:55

MrRonandreykurilin: OK. I understand now a bit more. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I'll try to find a solution for that. I even now see the stacktrace that for non admin tests the admin creds are used. That makes sense now. Again, thank you for helping and understanding. Have a good day :)13:13
