takahashi-tscOK, let's start the Tacker weekly meeting.08:02
takahashi-tscToday, we cae see 2 agenda. one is about RC2. another is my topic but just announce.08:02
takahashi-tscSo noguchi, could you start your topic?08:03
hirofumi-noguchiSure08:03
hirofumi-noguchiWe have several patches for yoga. However, some of them could not meet the deadline of RC1. 08:04
hirofumi-noguchiPatches I am working on have not been merged yet.08:04
hirofumi-noguchiSo, I would propose creating RC2 as an intermediate release.08:04
hirofumi-noguchiCan I hear community’s opinion? 08:05
hirofumi-noguchiThat's all from my side. Thank you.08:05
uehaI agree to create RC2.08:06
takahashi-tscFirst of all, you already discuss it with yasufum? If so, PTL is already agree with making RC2, and if there is no strong objection, we should create RC2.08:06
hirofumi-noguchiYes, I have already discuss this topic with yasfum.08:07
hirofumi-noguchiI also heard that he is agree with this proposal.08:07
takahashi-tscOK, thanks. And I also agree to create RC2. So everyone, do you have any objection?08:08
takahashi-tscGood, so Tacker team's conclustion is, we will cireate RC2.08:11
takahashi-tsccreate RC208:11
takahashi-tscAny other comments about RC2 release?08:12
uehaIn order to be able to make it in RC2(~3/18), I think we need to complete the merge to master at least by Thursday.08:13
uehaThere are some patches under review, so I'm wondering if we can make in time.08:13
takahashi-tscAgree08:13
takahashi-tscThanks, I write your comment in Etherpad.08:15
uehaI will check as soon as the patch is updated. There is also a Final RC, but let's do our best to complete it in RC2!08:15
takahashi-tscAny others?08:15
uehatakahashi-tsc: thanks :)08:16
takahashi-tscIf there is no more comments, we will move on next topic.08:16
takahashi-tscOK, but this is just annouce which I already explained last week.08:17
takahashi-tscNow I start to prepare to contribute O-RAN SC community. They want Tacker team to create initial commit. 08:19
takahashi-tscI'm a little confused about what we should  commit first, I'll talk about it soon. Maybe next this meeting. Sorry I have no progress now. But I'm looking forward anyone's support!08:20
takahashi-tscAny comments or question?08:20
uehaWill you create new repository on o-ran sc? or push commit to an existing repository?08:22
uehaThere are many repositories in o-ran sc github.. https://github.com/orgs/o-ran-sc/repositories08:22
takahashi-tscWe will commit to existing repository. https://github.com/o-ran-sc/archived-smo-o208:23
takahashi-tscThis is still archived, but O-RAN SC said they will change status of repository.08:23
uehaI understood, it have been already created. thanks!08:24
takahashi-tscAny others?08:24
takahashi-tscGood. then, if we have no more topic, we close today's meeting now.08:26
takahashi-tscThank you so much, Let's do our best to complete the RC2 release. bye.08:28
uehathanks, bye08:28
manpreetkBye!08:28

oneswigjulianp: hi there21:02
julianpHi oneswig!21:02
julianpHow is everyone?21:02
oneswigHello!  I've been neglectful recently (year end approaching).21:02
julianpIs work busy?21:03
oneswigAll well over here.  We've been working on completing some federated research cloud projects21:03
oneswigIt's always nice to talk about these things, and great fun to do them.  A bit harder to finish them though, huh?21:04
julianpHeh. Yeah, I know what you mean.21:04
oneswigHow's things with you?21:04
julianpNot bad at all.21:04
julianpAre your projects all around Europe?21:05
oneswigThe majority are21:05
oneswigWe are lucky to work in a lot of far-off places too, mostly nice and sunny ones21:06
julianpOh my. Yes that's not bad at all.21:06
oneswigI'm not sure how that worked out that many of our clients also happen to be in holiday destinations :-) 21:06
julianpLet me know when you find out the secret.21:07
oneswigHow's Arizona, speaking of sunny places?21:07
julianpVery sunny! And getting warm. It's spring break here, so most of the students are off somewhere.21:08
oneswigOn their European tour perhaps.  We were in Portugal last month and there were quite a few American students in town21:08
julianpHuh. Yeah, that could well be. I can only imagine how many university students there are around the world right now.21:09
julianp(Traveling)21:09
julianpDo you have a long lead time on your research cloud engagements?21:10
oneswigI don't think there's a consistent pattern.  Sometimes we get asked to intervene in a down system that day.  Sometimes it can take months and months to get something started.21:11
oneswigSomewhere in between the extremes is good, of course.21:12
julianpYes, I imagine that helps quite a bit with scheduling.21:12
oneswigHow's the uptake for Exosphere going - are you busy with that?21:13
julianpYeah, I am now full-time on Exosphere. We have a few contractors. Starting to think about sustainability models.21:13
julianpGeorge Mason University have been evaluating it, and they like it a lot so far.21:14
julianpWell, not 'starting to think', but more 'starting to put in place'...21:15
oneswigNice work julianp21:15
julianpThank you oneswig! I can't believe it's been over 4 years since our extremely rough prototype.21:15
julianpI want to do a time-travel style retrospective, showing how it's evolved over the years.21:16
oneswigThat's quite a journey, no doubt21:16
julianpIndeed. Right now we're focused on making sure that researchers LOVE the Jetstream2 experience.21:17
oneswigI was wondering if we should attempt to bag a slot for the PTG - would be good to share updates 21:17
oneswigAre you planning to go to Berlin in June?21:17
julianpYes, I'm hoping to get there.21:18
julianpYou?21:18
oneswigYes, I'll be there, circumstances permitting.21:19
julianpFingers crossed. I haven't been to a conference in person... in a while.21:19
oneswigI haven't seen anything about booking sessions for the Summit, don't want to miss that opportunity21:19
julianpYeah, good point.21:20
julianpDo you know the breakdown of novice/intermediate/power users of the research clouds you work with?21:22
oneswigFor the users, no.  In most cases we know the admins, they know the users.  Occasionally we get the war stories :-)21:22
julianpHeh. I bet.21:22
oneswigI'll ask about space for a session at Berlin.21:24
julianpcmart & I gave a lecture to some masters students learning distributed computing. They are encouraged (strongly) to use the OpenStack API and programmatic methods to manage their resources (as opposed to point-and-click). It has always been a goal for me to enable people to 'level up' from UI to 'programmable infrastructure', and I'm toying with some ideas.21:25
oneswigIt's really cool what can be done via the API.21:26
oneswigI'm already looking forward to Berlin - I suspect that enthusiasm will result in subsidising an evening beer/dinner 21:26
julianpIndeed!21:26
julianpI have never visited Germany, and I even have some family there. May try to combine it with catching the German MotoGP race!21:29
oneswigOh nan - that would be fantastic.21:30
oneswig(man!)21:30
oneswigI've mailed about getting a SIG forum on the summit schedule.21:31
julianpExcellent. 21:31
oneswigOK, should we stop there?  I have a couple of loose ends to tie off before turning in.21:33
julianpYes, was about to suggest that.21:33
julianpWell, I'm glad to hear you may be at the conference in Berlin.21:33
julianpCatch you next time! đź‘‹21:34
oneswigSame to you julianp, already looking forward to it21:34
