clarkbsmcginnis: it looks at the git state and applies semver rules to generate a future version that it attaches .dev to20:01

logan-9k on the underlying interfaces is pretty standard for jumbo frames but it really doesn't matter as long as its big enough to support 1500 byte packet + vxlan overhead.  so id go with 9k on the physical interfaces, tell neutron 1550 physnet mtu, and then any vxlan networks you create will get normal 1500 mtus for the instances attached to them20:31

fungiall the devices on the same layer 2 broadcast domain which will be communicating with one another need to be set to a similar mtu, and the frame size needs to be supported by the ethernet hardware whatever that might be (bridges/switches...)20:43
*** jcoufal has quit IRC20:45
fungiso with, say, vxlan, whatever's providing the underlying ethernet pathways would be set to jumbo frames but then the encapsulated vxlan segments would be set to 1500 mtu and whatever is decapsulating them would be jumbo on the underlying broadcast domain but then probably 1500 on unencapsulated interfaces not participating in vxlan20:45
fungiessentially the separation between jumbo and not-jumbo happens at layer-3 boundaries and/or gets encapsulated20:46
