rm_workno, we need to complete the transition before the release01:07
clarkbso if what you have works then great lets deal with this after release01:07
Nakatoclarkb: Right now constraints is an optional addition to the main python jobs, so for now it's intentional.  Of course we want to make it the primary tests as soon as we can.01:07
clarkbrm_work: why?01:07
rm_workthe release should be using the new stuff01:07

clarkbpabelanger: there are two major pieces you need (I think), first is what we use ansible for, a sane way to execute code in multiple places and orchestrate them together. The other is that openstack and tempest expect routable "public" IPs for VMs to exist. Since our test VMs aren't assigned network blocks they manage themselves we achieve doing that by setting up a network overlay with GRE that is15:30
clarkbdisconnected from teh world where we can assign whatever IPs we like15:30

Ryan_Lanethe biggest thing is that you don't have to think about rebases in github, for the most part17:32
mordredRyan_Lane: you just have to think about merges17:32
fungiRyan_Lane: though i assume there are similar console-based tools for interacting with github's code review api, i just don't know what they are17:32
Ryan_Lanewhereas gerrit forces you to consider rebases17:32
mordredit's the same problem - just in github it's someone else's job (usually central) to reslve merge problems17:32

Ryan_Laneeven in github I think it's necessary for devs to fix their own merge conflicts, most of the time17:33
fungiyeah, the submitter doesn't necessarily have to worry about rebases in github, except i hear quite a few high-volume projects that rely on github tell contributors to rebase their pull requests because doing it for them at approval is too much extra work17:33

fungiwell, rebasing or merging, regardless it's the conflict resolution that's the necessary step (and git still uses the same mechanisms either way, for cherry-picking and stash pop too for that matter)17:34
Ryan_LaneI do like that gerrit forces you into a clean master17:35
mordredRyan_Lane: I honestly wish there was a world where you could use github and I could use gerrit and it would all work out. that world sadly doens't exist so we get this balkanization17:36

openstackgerritMerged openstack-infra/system-config: Switch to centos7 git03 and git04 hosts
docaedoclarkb: kfox1111 can confirm, but the intention is for us to use that very soon - now that we've moved the JSON file creation particulars to a script that comes from app-catalog repo, next steps for us shouldn't require merges from the infra side19:39

clarkbmmmpork: the demo user and admin user share a password22:45
fungii'd be willing to bet it would work for the demo user, but clarkb has been banging on it recentrly22:45
clarkbmmmpork: and yes you should use the demo user22:45
mmmporkyeah, that's what the config is using22:45
*** wenlock_ has quit IRC22:46
mmmporkthe comment in the config said to use the admin password, i think that's less confusing personally22:46
clarkbyup its using the demo user, the password is just the same as the admin password22:46
mmmporkthan to say to use the demo password22:46
clarkbmmmpork: but there is no demo password iirc22:46
mmmporkbecause if they are the same, it would make me thing they should be different22:46
clarkbthere is the admin password and the demo user gets that password22:46
jrollso... do the new jobs on the requirements repo generally work?22:46
mmmporkright that's how i understood it, i think saying anything else would be potentially too confusing22:46
clarkbjroll: I think since they were fixed they should22:47
clarkbjroll: so as of yesterday afternoon22:47
jrollclarkb: hmmm
jrolldon't see why this should fail so hard, only adds a library with no new deps22:48
clarkboh did the fix not merge?22:48
clarkbjroll: because the test is apparently still broken22:48
mmmporkclarkb: thanks!22:49
mmmporkalso jeblair: thanks as well!22:49

jrollI'll depends-on, assuming that should work22:49
clarkbjroll: you can depends on it22:50
openstackgerritJim Rollenhagen proposed openstack/requirements: Add ironic-lib at initial release
clarkbI personally don't think we need the extra testing because we have never done that testing with any other projects around release time22:50
jrollaaaand nuked my +2, nice22:50
clarkbbut release managers want it and its their thing so they win22:50
clarkbjroll: you have to, you just changed the test env for the thing invalidating an prior review22:51

fungiyeah, that23:01
clarkbafter this the next host is itself23:01

clarkbbut that one should be easy (now that I have said that I am doomed)23:01
greghaynescrinkle: if you resize2fs on / it should 'just work'23:01
fungiand hopefully ubuntu precise eventually as well (openstack already doesn't need it since icehouse eol, but we still have rather a few servers on it)23:01

openstackgerritClark Boylan proposed openstack-infra/system-config: Switch to centos7 git01 and git02 hosts
russellbfungi: clarkb pabelanger i actually don't know of an asterisk package for centos 7 ... so that might make it easy23:03
greghaynesoh, I should poke at the dib arm stuff so we can make images for pbx voice bridges at summit23:03 and EPEL both still only do centos 623:03
