noonedeadpunkgood morning07:53
KSR-DKHi. Quick question.. I'm prepping upgrade from Xena to Yoga - The guide https://docs.openstack.org/openstack-ansible/yoga/admin/upgrades/major-upgrades.html tells me to clone tag 25.5.0, however I see some updates has been done to tag yoga-eom, and then there is a branch with nane unmaintained/yoga with even a few more - seemingly - functional unimportant commits.. Which one to use?09:22
KSR-DKMy gut tells me yoga-eom..09:23
KSR-DKnoonedeadpunk - you in?09:48

KSR-DKnoonedeadpunk - Hey.. Can you help on my question? I'm prepping upgrade from Xena to Yoga - The guide https://docs.openstack.org/openstack-ansible/yoga/admin/upgrades/major-upgrades.html tells me to clone tag 25.5.0, however I see some updates has been done to tag yoga-eom, and then there is a branch with nane unmaintained/yoga with even a few more - seemingly - functional unimportant commits.. Which one to use?09:50
noonedeadpunkSo, I wouldn't use yoga-eom, as IIRC we did things wrong in this one, with follow-up fixes to unmaintained/yoga09:51
KSR-DKAs mentioned I'd go for xena-eom, but the upgrade guide say something else.. 09:51
KSR-DKOh ok..09:51
noonedeadpunkSo I'd use 25.6.0 I guess09:51
KSR-DKOk, thanks. Is there a guide on how to figure this out, or is it OK to ask in here when in doubt?09:52
noonedeadpunkfwiw, changelog is here: https://docs.openstack.org/releasenotes/openstack-ansible/yoga.html09:52
noonedeadpunkwe don't refelect all fixed bugs though...09:52
noonedeadpunkKSR-DK: sure, feel free to ask things here :)09:52
KSR-DKnoonedeadpunk - thanks. Just want to make sure I'm not wasting peoples time with too basic things. So - the advice it to go with the latest version mentioned in the releasenotes for each version, and NOT the version mentioned in the upgrade guide?09:54
noonedeadpunkKSR-DK: yup. upgrade guides are renderred when docs are updated09:59
noonedeadpunkso if there was no update to docs - it will have stale release mentioned09:59
noonedeadpunkand we fail to find time to fix / workaround this thing09:59
noonedeadpunk(eventually we fail in documenting everything quite dramatically so there're quite some hidden features)10:02
KSR-DKnoonedeadpunk - Thanks alot.10:03
opendevreviewDmitriy Rabotyagov proposed openstack/openstack-ansible-os_neutron master: Fix multiline yaml formatting in neutron systemd services  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_neutron/+/91488510:07
KSR-DK@noonedeadpunk in the 25.6.0 branch there is an issue in the ansible-collection-requirements.yml file due to reference to stable/yoga for https://opendev.org/openstack/openstack-ansible-plugins11:57
KSR-DKCan you advice on which one to go for.. unmaintained/yoga or yoga-eom ? 11:58
KSR-DKAnd... How to tag another user in a message so the name turns upo read ? ;-)11:59
noonedeadpunkhuh12:01
KSR-DKto which part :-)12:02
noonedeadpunkKSR-DK: create /etc/openstack_deploy/user-collection-requirements.yml with https://paste.openstack.org/show/bzOeKVyzOVRrXsI9UzQm/12:03
noonedeadpunkor you can try just unmaintained/yoga12:03
noonedeadpunkas yoga-eom has exactly same issue12:04
noonedeadpunkabout truning red - jsut mention nick in the message. it can be in arbitrary place12:05
KSR-DKI'll give it a shot - Thanks again noonedeadpunk12:06
noonedeadpunkno worries12:06
opendevreviewMerged openstack/openstack-ansible-plugins stable/2023.2: Do not log contents of installed keypairs by default  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-plugins/+/91501616:17
noonedeadpunkhuh, so apparently TLS jobs failing on nova when it's trying to populate DB16:25
noonedeadpunkwonder if that has smth to do with it https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-galera_server/+/91100916:25

noonedeadpunkyeah, so https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-galera_server/+/911009 is 100% related18:18
noonedeadpunkas when you're trying to not use TLS when it's required - you get permission denied as if you're using wrong password18:19
