kata-irc-bot<niteshkonkar007> Hi All, a couple of questions. 1. How do we get the kata-agent logs when we enable vsock? With virtio-serial socket we get it with `journalctl -t kata-proxy` 2.  When we enable debug console and also enable full debug, kernel_params = "agent.debug_console agent.log=debug initcall_debug", we get the debug console but not the agent logs. How do we get agent logs in this case.09:28

kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> @julio.montes - here I am installing Ubuntu server 18.04.... and I see kata is the 2nd in the list of most popular snaps recommended to install ;)  (microk8s is no.1).  :clap:13:14

kata-irc-bot<eric.ernst> These look like noise to me. Feedback @salvador.fuentes ?14:18
kata-irc-bot<eric.ernst> https://github.com/kata-containers/runtime/pull/194814:18
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> on the QA CI's @eric.ernst - I have a feeling both Debian10 and Power have had issues - but - we should probably check with @afrosi on the Power CI, in case the kernel upgrade is affecting it...14:20
kata-irc-bot<eric.ernst> Okay. We have to figure out how to get stable updates quicker.14:22
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> @eric.ernst understood. in this case (and probalby in all future cases), it is tied to the stability and amount of trust we place in the CI. Any CI wobbles (which, unless we invest a lot of effort and time into how we update the CIs and slaves, to effectively 'beta' any CI changes) I think will always impact us. And as our CI grows, the chances of instability will only grow I suspect.14:24

kata-irc-bot<eric.ernst> So, are these beta failures then?14:32
kata-irc-bot<eric.ernst> I feel like I have less confidence in those jobs14:32
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> The Debian10 is pretty new I think, so I'd probably classify that as Beta-like. The power8, iiuc, with changes in Kata like virtiofs and vsock, we are pushing some of the fringes of what has made it into the kernel upstream for that arch (not just that arch), and so we have to carry some in-flight patches - so things like bumps to upstream may interact with those. We have to defer to the arch owners for those though..14:35
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> @gabriela.cervantes.te - can you give us an assessment of the Debian10 QA CI - is it in theory stable and functional?14:40
kata-irc-bot<salvador.fuentes> @eric.ernst @graham.whaley I think we have seen a couple of failures of the tracing test on the new debian jobs, but everything else should be more stable, @jose.carlos.venegas.m sent a rebuild for that job, should pass14:56
kata-irc-bot<salvador.fuentes> Power Job seems that it is completely broken, @niteshkonkar007 any idea of this failure? https://github.com/kata-containers/runtime/pull/1948#issuecomment-51983400114:58
kata-irc-bot<gabriela.cervantes.te> @graham.whaley so looking the tests repository for example, we have a total of 20 CI runs for Debian, 14 Passed, 2 failed for a network timeout, 1 failed for jaeger test, and 3 failed but the failures are related with the PR changes14:58
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> thx @salvador.fuentes @gabriela.cervantes.te15:03
kata-irc-bot<niteshkonkar007> @salvador.fuentes: There were some issues with the kata CI last week. It has been restored back to a stable state. I have restarted the CI on that PR, lets see how it goes this time.15:08
kata-irc-bot<salvador.fuentes> thanks @niteshkonkar00715:09
kata-irc-bot<salvador.fuentes> @niteshkonkar007 it already failed again with ```E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution). Failed at 16: sudo -E apt -y install moreutils```15:10
kata-irc-bot<niteshkonkar007> @salvador.fuentes: I fixed that issue. Now I see: ``` Err:10 https://download.docker.com/linux/debian xenial Release   404  Not Found [IP: 13.225.224.18 443] Reading package lists... E: The repository 'https://download.docker.com/linux/debian xenial Release' does not have a Release file. Build step 'Execute shell' marked build as failure ``` Looking into it ...15:30
kata-irc-bot<salvador.fuentes> thanks15:32
kata-irc-bot<niteshkonkar007> Looks like this CI machine has got rebooted into a debian OS instead of Ubuntu 1604: :S ``` root@kata1:/boot# cat /etc/os-release  PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid" NAME="Debian GNU/Linux" ID=debian HOME_URL="https://www.debian.org/" SUPPORT_URL="https://www.debian.org/support" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.debian.org/" ```15:38
kata-irc-bot<niteshkonkar007> Can we ignore the Power CI failures util it gets fixed?15:46
kata-irc-bot<salvador.fuentes> ups, that's weird, yeah, I think we can ignore them, can you just please update the Status CI page to reflect that Power jobs are unstable? http://jenkins.katacontainers.io/view/CI%20Status/15:49
kata-irc-bot<niteshkonkar007> Done. Thnx.16:03
