kata-irc-bot<thierry> gwhaley: that job is using https://github.com/ansible-network/ansible-zuul-jobs/blob/master/roles/validate-dco-license/tasks/main.yaml to test, and that role was proposed for addition in the standard zuul jobs, so that feature is covered09:02

kata-irc-bot<thierry> I'll look into how to do WIP, but that should not be too complicated.09:04

kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> adding for ref - the actual ansible code snippet that does the SOB/DCO signoff in Zuul can be seen at https://github.com/ansible-network/ansible-zuul-jobs/blob/master/roles/validate-dco-license/tasks/main.yaml10:48
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> ttx: thx for adding zuul to the pullapprove alternatives wiki page. I added a link to the zuul github driver label/unlabel event, as I expect that is what we'd use for the label blocking: https://zuul-ci.org/docs/zuul/admin/drivers/github.html#attr-pipeline.trigger.%3Cgithub%20source%3E.label10:57

kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> hi ttx, fungi - just checking - that ansible-network zuul is running on a different instance of zuul, yes - the instance hosted by softwarefactory. So, that dco check is not already included in zuul (the openstack zuul), so is not in the namespace already. Thus, I'll need to copy/import it into the openstack zuul in order to use it. Just checking. A little confusing, as the ansible-network zuul also runs on top of vexxhost afaict14:15
kata-irc-bot;)14:15

kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> I'm just working out what needs adding/changing and where - will take a little bit to wrap my head around zuul, but it is a necessary exercise I think.14:16
fungiright, it's been proposed to zuul's stdlib (the zuul-jobs repository) in https://review.openstack.org/629565 so likely will be in short order14:18

kata-irc-bot<thierry> gwhaley: I'm probably duplicating your work on my side, but I'm likely to go slower than you :)14:35
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> ttx: OK, let's not duplicate ;) I was not sure if you were actively pursuing or not. There are a few things I think we'd like to do with zuul for kata. Let me open a tracking issue, put some of my priority thoughts on them, and then we can assign etc. I'm not sure I'll be going quicker - zuul is all new to me, and there are some reasonably complex interactions (between pipelines, projects, jobs, roles etc.) that I need to wrap my14:40
kata-irc-bothead around to try and do it right, and scaleable.14:40
kata-irc-bot<thierry> I am actively pursuing it -- I just have trouble to make up time for it :) So you may very likely go faster than me :)14:45
kata-irc-bot<thierry> anyway, yes, we should stay in sync to avoid duplication14:45

kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> hi @fungi - are openstack zuul infra changes submitted/managed through the review.openstack.org gerrit front end? If so, I guess I need to do that CLA, which I then have to go do some internal stuff for...16:48
clarkbthey are but no CLA is required16:49
fungithe openstack-infra/project-config repository does not require agreeing to the openstack foundation icla16:49
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> great, thanks :slightly_smiling_face:16:50
fungihttps://review.openstack.org/#/admin/projects/openstack-infra/project-config says "Require a valid contributor agreement to upload: INHERIT (false)"16:51
fungiwhich is gerrit's way of saying you don't need a cla agreement on record16:51
kata-irc-bot<manohar.r.castelino> Is there anyone who works on ARM for Kata online?17:06
*** eernst has quit IRC17:11
gwhaleymcastelino: I see 'davidgiluk' on kata-dev17:34
gwhaleyhe is direct in irc, not on slack (but the bot will translate)17:34
gwhaleylet me try an intro over there for you..17:34
gwhaleyoh - look - I was in the wrong window - heh - @macastelino - have an intro to davidgiluk17:35
davidgilukhey17:35
davidgilukgwhaley: I've not tried kata with ARM stuff17:35
gwhaleydavidgiluk - manohar had a question - can you run virtio-fs without using DAX right now17:36
gwhaleywill it revert to copying?17:36
kata-irc-bot<manohar.r.castelino> davidgiluk I was wondering if it is possible to try it w/o DAX.. we lose the coherency17:36
davidgilukgwhaley: Yes, that's right; if you just omit the 'dax' from teh mount line, and/or specify a zero size cache region, it'll just copy17:37
kata-irc-bot<manohar.r.castelino> davidgiluk perfect.. I will try it17:37
