errrrcastril: are you doing devstack or a regular install?01:04
*** zhurong has joined #cloudkitty01:04
rcastrilerrr: Regular, using Ubuntu mitaka stable repos01:07
rcastrilerrr: installed kitty via pip install01:07
errrrcastril: Ive only done it with devstack mitaka, and on devstack it "just worked" as far as the install went01:07
errrso from pip does that mean you ended up with 0.4.1 ?01:08
rcastrilerrr: I'll try to devstack and copy files and DB01:09
rcastrilerrr: I am far from any terminal   now.  Will check the version once home01:10
errrI just started working on this project Monday so I may not be much help yet. The primary folks are in France or something I think and generally respond to my questions while Im sleeping01:11
rcastrilerrr: cool man :)01:24
rcastrilwish I had time to contribute too01:24
errrI get paid to or I wouldnt :P01:24
rcastrilerrr: Now Im home. Will check the version pip installed.01:25
errrok01:25
rcastrilerr: This is the version: 0.5.001:28
rcastrilchecking github's01:29
rcastrilerrr: Its the latest :/01:30
rcastrilerrr: I will launch a devstack now and compare the config files01:31
rcastrilerrr: There is a bug already https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloudkitty/+bug/152388101:32
openstackLaunchpad bug 1523881 in cloudkitty "Documentation is not updated to use AuthPlugins" [Medium,Triaged]01:32
errryeah the docs.. those need some work01:32
rcastrilerrr: but the weird thing is that the auth_plugin = password setting is there in the config files01:33
errrthi sprint Im working on making an openstack-ansible role for cloudkitty, maybe I can tackel some of the doc issues while Im at it01:33
rcastrilerrr: maybe kitty is looking for a different string01:33
rcastrilerrr: just out of curiosity... What do u need to know to work on openstack projects? Would python + cloud infrastructure knowledge be enough? By working I mean to get paid for it :)01:39
errryeah I guess so.01:40
errrI happen to work for Rackspace and Im on a R&D team that does custom stuff for openstack.01:41
errrso Im not being paid specifically to work on this project, it just happens to be something we need for something else so Im working on it, and we do our nest to send everything we do back upstream01:43
errrbest*01:43
errrI think for the next 2 weeks to a month a team of 4 of us will be doing a lot to this project01:44
rcastrilerrr: good! I really think that there is little or no space for big enterprises' private softwares. They can make money also by contributing and using open projects01:46
rcastrilerrr: I work for a big one too and I think they help someway, but Im not sure yet. I work with cloud infrastructure, but OpenStack is different and seems to me as the future of how computing services are provided in the cloud01:48
errryeah I really enjoy working for Rackspace. Being able to work on opensource stuff is really important to me01:48

rcastrilerrr: Is there any restriction with python's version?02:18
rcastrilerrr: Im running on 2.702:20
errrnone I am aware of yet, Im doing all my testing on Ubuntu 14.04 and it has 2.7.6 I think02:20
rcastrilyep, me too. All OS nodes are 14.04. tks02:21

rcastrilerrr: devstack finished, cloudkitty works (although I dont know how to use yet)03:35
rcastrilerrr: I copied the config files changing the passwords and the IP addresses, but now I get the following error: Unauthorized: The request you have made requires authentication. (HTTP 401)03:35
rcastrilerrr: I will play a bit with the settings03:36
rcastrilerrr: I give up. Here are the logs:03:53

rcastrilall: Hello again12:40
rcastrilall: so Im still having problems with authenticating cloudkitty against keystone12:41
rcastrilall: devstack installation of cloudkitty works, but not hte standard install in a regular mitaka.12:41
rcastrilall: so i tried to edit devstack's cloudkitty.conf and replace the IPs from devstack keystone to regular keystone and the same error pops out12:42
rcastrilall: I guess I dont have problems with the configuration files  because of that. Maybe my problem is in regular keystone denying the authentication somehow12:43
rcastrilall: This is the full error stack: https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/6aGTYduL/12:44
rcastrilall: and config files: https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/if3mf19P/12:45
rcastrilall: Can someone help?12:45
