xenlodmsimard: yes, we know about the `ara_record`. we were using that at the begining, giving as key the module name and as value the content of the task.08:21
xenlobut it leads to some issue when more than one `command` or `shell` tasks in our playbook (only the last one was recorded)08:22
xenloand worst with several hosts, it leads to lock and fails because et try to update the same record at the same time.08:23

ara-slackzach.swanson: I’ve got a set of hosts that should be reporting when they do their bootup sequence but I’m getting nothing from them. I know ara is installed on the instances because its used when the AWS AMI is built too, and that data does appear in my ARA api server. Is something i can run directly at the CLI with the ara client to test the connection the api server?15:36

ara-slackdmsimard: The API server has a basic healthcheck endpoint, i.e: https://api.trunk.demo.recordsansible.org/healthcheck/17:23
ara-slackdmsimard: You could curl that and use the response to test the connection17:24
ara-slackdmsimard: @zach.swanson :point_up:17:24
ara-slackzach.swanson: Well I get a valid response, so why would it would not be sending the data on only this one server :thinking_face:17:50
ara-slackdmsimard: Good question. Do you have access to the ansible-playbook console output ? Any hints there ?17:57
ara-slackdmsimard: There is an issue with logging if server deps aren't installed but if they're installed you can turn up verbosity with ARA_LOG_LEVEL=true and ARA_DEBUG=true17:59
ara-slackdmsimard: Also worth increasing Ansible verbosity (-vvv?) so it tells you which plugins are loaded at the beginning and see if ara is there18:10
ara-slackzach.swanson: These all build off a common base AMI  so that’s the especially odd part. There’s another part of the user data (an SNS notification) that is also somehow not firing, so this maybe something totally outside of the ARA config18:27
ara-slackdmsimard: yeah I am as curious as you are about the issue :slightly_smiling_face:18:30
